"clue 2) nice quiet sense of humour

Any others like to play?

From past posts, I've gleaned incognitus is near enough to Minneapolis to enjoy pancakes, and is a Canadian resident given the use of the term "pommies" to refer to Brits.

Incognitus actually reported the repose of Mr George Samra before Irish Melkite, so that might reveal a relationship to the Melkites.(?)

Incognitus' use of the term "Carpatho-Russian" and not "Carpatho-Rusyn" provides another clue. Perhaps, those more astute in Slavic nuances can interpret this clue.

Me - I think his name is the biggest clue of all

He is unknown, and I hope in the fullness of time - after he has really enjoyed himself - he will actually reveal himself to us.

Till then - let us be thankful of his presence here -

educating us [ he certainly does that mebbe a Teacher ?]

amusing us

and above all let us appreciate his wisdom.

Dear Incognitus - thank you for being you.

Anhelyna

PS - Isn't pommies normally used by Aussies ? biggrin

We know he speaks French because he told us that. Thus maybe he is Qubecois, living elsewhere in Canada (closer to MN)

Also, there have been some indications that he is a priest.

An Eastern Catholic Qubecois priest living near MN, in Canada. That's my guess.

The mystery deepens as Incognitus "threatens" to change his nom de plume to "snowbound.!"

In his attempt to "whitewash" our investigation, I hope he is not "snowed under" thus erasing forever any trace of him in this planetary landscape. It could effectively halt this endeavor. wink

Really, my eyes are strained looking for him considering the terse "dot" as his point of origin.

He might be someone of importance in one of the Eastern Catholic Churches. Someone - - - notable, heard-of. Why else would one hide his identity and location (unless he or she was just really paranoid). So my guess is maybe a retired (or active, even) bishop in one of the ECCs.

Just a guess.

All Eastern rite Catholic and all Orthodox priests from Quebec are trilingual ('ethnic laguage' - ie: Ukrainian,+ English, + French). There may be a few from Ontario and Possibly Manitoba who speak French in addition to Ukrainian and English.

I know many of those in Quebec, so if he is living there, this could be easier than I thought.

Minneapolis is 'just' south of Manitoba, so maybe....

Manitoba is just south of the North pole, so maybe..... Santa biggrin

Does anybody have a 'sneeky' idea ?

So "incognitus" is a transplanted Aussie living in the Great White North? I actually read somewhere that an Aussie thought "pommies" refered to "Prisoners Of Mother England" and so it must have referred to those in the Commonwealth. biggrin

I have never heard of pommies in Canada.

Pomme = French for apple
Pomme de terre (or patate) = French for potato

Maybe he said ponnies ?

In that case he would be in Las Vegas betting on the horses biggrin

Hritzko,

If we're talking ponnies, perhaps Incognitus is in Atlantic City? biggrin

Actually I'm in cyberspace. Did you know, incidentally, that Las Vegas has what to the best of my limited knowledge is the only Italo-Greek parish in the Western Hemisphere? Now why would that be, do you suppose?

Incognitus,

I visit Vegas twice a month to see my brother, if you're there I'll find you.

In reference to the Italo-Greek parish in Las Vegas, the pastor is after all an ethnic Sicilian originally from New York. Are you surprised? You should experience Vespers at this parish, I understand they are to die for. biggrin
