Besides visiting St. Mary's (it was long ago and I wasn't aware of Light & Life at the time), I myself took my gustatorial delight in Czech honey waffles with strawberries and cream and my visual enjoyment in the lovely hammered silver Czech icons that graced the walls of my hosts' home. I missed the mention of a pancake fundraiser, sorry. But now, all is clear.

Dear Brothers and Sisters, I think that I may actually know the identity of Incognitus, but I'm not telling. Unfairly, some of my clues have come from information peripheral to this Forum. And I respect incogniminity. (New word?) The participants have gathered most of the on-line clues from this Forum. However, I reaffirm that we may well assume that he does have ecclesial, even episcopal authority, since he recently was devising ways to steal a fine psalti/chanter from a parish in Philadelphia. Regarding Las Vegas and Albanians: not only is there an Italo-Albanian Greek Byzantine Catholic parish there, but the former and founding Presbyter of the Greek Orthodox Church of St. John the Baptist was of Albanian-American ancestry and is now known as His Grace, Bishop Ilia of Philimelion, heading the Albanian Orthodox Diocese of America and simultaneously serving as Director of the Albanian Orthodox Theological School in Durres, Albania. I guess that we Albanians are just everywhere . In Christ, Andrew

Maybe he lives in the mountains in California. I live in California and I've only vaguely heard of the mall of America. And we do get snow in the mountains.

Actually I'd forgotten the pancake breakfast myself. I assumed that the recent reference to pancakes in Minneapolis had to do with Paul Bunyan. Incognitus

I shall add that a friend of mine rang me to say that this thread is the most amusing item he has found on the forum. "Rang me." Not an American sytle phrasing. British or Australian? Canadian? But, then, it could be done on purpose to throw us off track. Incognitus: we love you and hope you don't mind our playing this silly game!

I thought that I was the only one who only had vaguely heard of the mall of America. I'm so out of it when it comes to pop culture. THANK YOU TAMMY ! I think that we have to focuss in on Phily.

On another thread, he (incognitus) just used the term "coach and four." Isn't that a really old expression? I've never even heard it before.
He's certainly not from around here (Philly).

If he uses a really old expression, that must mean he is really old?

Canadians will say "rang me".

Rang me is past tense for ring me. In England if you want to ring someone, that means you will call them up on the telephone.

My, this thread is popular! Seldom, if ever, have I been the object of so much (undeserved) attention. Perhaps anonymity has its fringe benefits. "To drive a coach and four" through a loophole or a weak spot in an argument is indeed an old expression. But to the best of my limited knowledge, it is not geographically determined. For those who prefer more up-to-date language, I suppose one could drive a truck through the argument. If you're concentrating on Philadelphia, reserve a table for me at Bookbinders. Incognitus

I think he is a relative of Alex. But then, Alex's grandfather had 25 kids by 2 marriages, so probably half of Canada is related to Alex somehow!
