Does anyone have any idea if the "Domostroi" has been translated into the English language? If it has, where can I get a copy.

Also, while I'm at it. the "Zakhon Bozia" would be nice to have in English as well.

Alexandr - yes to the first question. I bought mine at Barnes and Noble, and have ordered others as gifts from Amazon.

Just go to Amazon.com and type in "Domostroi" on the search line and it will come up. Although some of the translations are innacurate of certain particular practices, it's a start. Kolesov has made a new modern Russian translation as well.

What other book gives advice on family prayer - and brewing your beer (or distilling your vodka)? The ultimate almanac. smile

Regarding the Zakon - if you are referring to the edition written by Archpriest Serafim of blessed memory, the only versions I know of are Russian (Jordanville republished this).

I stand corrected - and I'll be getting this one so I don't have to rely on my very bad Russian anymore...Thanks Thymiato.

My pleasure. I hope the book brings you many blessings. It is one of my favorites.
