I keep trying and failing. There is this really great icon I want to use...
When I get back to the profile update how do I then access my images?
I tried typing in the URL and pushing the "set url " button but nothing happens. I am really low tech and this is depressing.

1. Click on my profile.

2. Click on View/Update Profile.

3. Click on Select a different Avatar Image.

4. In the pop-up window find the box labeled Enter Use Custom URL and enter the full URL to the image you wish to use. [The image must already be on the web somewhere and meet the size restrictions of this Forum.] Click on Set URL and your picture will appear in the upper left box.

5. Click on Select this Avatar and the pop-up will go away.

6. On the bottom of the remaining screen click Update Profile.

Your image will appear in all new posts that you make. It will also appear in a thread with new posting activity. It will not appear in older threads with no new posts.

If you have difficulty changing your url please e-mail the image (make sure it is not copyrighted).

I remind everyone that there is a size restriction on images. Do not exceed 80 pixels wide without contacting me first. Images wider than 100 pixels will not be permitted as they really screw up the screen.

By the way -- what happened to the selection of avatar images that used to be available to us who are way too intimidated to look anywhere else..?
I certainly don't see that display of images any more.
Is it still around? smile

Hmm - just go to update profile.

Look at the pic that is there and you should find at the bottom and slightly to one side the words << select a different avatar>> click on that and then make a new choice.

Hope that helps

Ooops, it's huge. Is there a way to make it a little smaller?
