Incognitus,

I don't know the practice in SF or Denver, but what you say is also true of Saint Andrew's in El Segundo.

Many years,

Neil

Accepted, I likewise withdraw my last post which was sarcasm in the same vain.

That is the case with OLF in SF, St. Andrew's in El Segundo and St. Michael's in NYC.

I'll be travelling to Denver this summer and will get back on Fr. Chrysostom's practice.

I think Steve addressed the issue well. If I'm being unfair then show us specifically what changes are being wrought in the liturgy that will cause major harm to anyone. If I'm being unfair show us the efforts that have been made and rebuffed to work with the bishops to ensure that the changes being proposed won't cause harm. If I'm being unfair show me how those who are fearful of the changes and have suggested that they will leave over them have helped to bring new people to our Churches.

I didn't say the changes would cause harm, etc. I'm not talking about the Liturgy changes at all.

My concern is that people who are being stumbled (perhaps without enough reason) are treated as if they 'never were really part of us' or are 'cowards' or are those despised 'Latin Riters who are just taking refuge among us,' etc.

As they used to say "Where's the Beef?" If you know it exists then show it. If you can't do that then at least see about getting the offending translations changed.

Why Oh Why seek to cause scandal to people on this forum? I won't try to guess the motivation. I will only observe its result. It is scandalous.

??? Because I expressed concern for the way those who indicated they were thinking of leaving were being treated, am I seeking to cause scandal? Did I say I was leaving? My point is and I think it's being missed is this:

These people are hurting. Leaving one's spiritual home can be a traumatic thing. Still, they are people for whom Christ died. We may disagree with their decision but let's give them some respect.

Christ is Risen!

"people who are being stumbled " - I have never before encountered the verb "to stumble" in the passive voice. What does it mean? Thanks.

Dear Nec Aliter: CHRIST IS RISEN!
Now that Exarch Leonty (Leonid Fiodorov) has been beatified, wouldn't it be fun to have an icon painted showing Saint Pius X handing Exarch Leonty a scroll reading "Nec plus, nec minus, nec aliter"? Interested?

Indeed He is Risen!

Perhaps someone could be commissioned to do that? I think it would be a great idea!

Not sure what to say about the passive voice. English is not my first language so sometimes I don't make sense.
