Dear Dr Eric,

These websites are indicitive of the rape of Russia and Ukraine by the west. Unfortunately, many of the "girls" posted are not real, just scammers located worldwide. Of the ones that are real, many end up in Islamic countries, as trophy concubines or as prostitutes. I would love to see these "flesh markets" shut down. I am glad that your uncle found someone. He was lucky.

LOL! Basketball playing offspring would be nice, but my reasons are purely practical. I find it tiring to continually have to physically lift someone in order to slow dance with them!

Alexandr, who sometimes envies the altitude impaired.

Then it sounds like the height of the woman isn't as important as the height of her shoes!

Perhaps we could import some 3" heels to the community?

LOL!! At 6'7"", maybe we need those awful platform shoes from the early 70's? Like maybe 12" or so?
But to be honest, it would be difficult to muck out a barn whilst wearing heels!

Alexandr,

It's a good thing I didn't post any links then. I actually found a few, there were even M.D.s on there as well. Is it really that bad in Russia and Ukraine? My uncle's wife is from a military family and she is quite educated. What gives?

Dear Dr. Eric,

Yes, the economic situation in both the Ukraine and Russia remains grim. Many of these sites are operated by the mob and trafficking in Eastern European women is approaching the crisis point. Just for fun sometime, pull up 5 or 6 personal ads from these sites. Usually you will find 2 supposedly different women with IDENTICAL PROFILES! These are not places Christians should venture to looking for spouses.
As for myself, I am seriously considering an arranged situation. A priest friend of mine in Yaroslavl keeps asking me to come meet one of the women in his parish. I may just take a sabbatical this summer.

Dr. Eric, yes it is bad - but in many ways the basic education is far superior to the public school system in the US.

I have a godson who converted from Judaism (long story) and was baptized here as an adult who was a full tenured college professor with a Ph.D. in Kyiv at a major university. He had even been the department head several times. He is now running a print shop in the Kansas City area and making an order of magnitude more salary here in the US. That was when he actually did get paid -often the university would go for months without paying the faculty.

It is bad all across Eastern Europe and the Balkans - in Macedonia the unemployment rate is pushing 50% right now.

My entire dept gets emails almost daily (which our IT people are working) on for Russian girls. We have had some interesting documentaries on the TV, on the traffic in girls to Turkey and elsewhere as prostitutes from all over eastern Europe. The business is HUGE.
