Glory to Jesus Christ!
In my library I have a very small hymnal of music for the Roman Rite in Hebrew, created by rexograph in Israel in 1965. It says it was from Ein Kerem (the home of Ss. Elizabeth, Zachariah, and the Forerunner), so it is very likely that it was compiled by Franciscans (that's a guess, however).
The music is not Gregorian chant, but has the "flavor" of Sephardi nussach.
The KYRIE is translated: Adonay rahem. HaMashiach rachem. Adonay rachem.
The GLORIA is translated: Kavod lelohim bamzomim, ve shalom ale adamot livne Adam bahem ratsa. Otha reshabbah, otha revareh. lefaneha nisgod ulehanitten yegar, node lecha al tif'artech kirabba. Anna Adonai Elohim, meleh hashamayim, ha-Av El Shaddai. Anna Adonai ha Ben hayahid, Yeshua haMashiah. Anna Adonai Elohenu, se ha-Elohim, Ben ha-Av. Hanose hattat haolam rahamenu. Amen.

Here's something of relation to this thread. It is the website of Protopresbyter Alexander Winogradsky, Head of the Orthodox Communities within the Israeli Society of the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of Jerusalem: http://www.geocities.com/rev_alexander2000/

Dear Friends: Prof. Thompson and Sarum are both right! Bl. Pope John XXIII and Pope John Paul I were the reigning Patriarch of Venice at the time of their respective election as Pope. Of course, how could I slip on Pope Paul VI, the Metropolitan Archbishop of Milan, the seat of the Ambrosian Rite? All my fault. Mea culpa, mea culpa! Amado (a mixed-up Latin )

Herbigny.
I'm surprised with the information. But aren't Greek Catholics ethnic Arabs? (or being more exact, Greek and syria people assimilated into Arab culture and language who are now very nationalist Arabs?)
What's their attitude toward the celebration of Liturgy in Hebrew? Are they being succesful in attracting Jewish people to the true Christian faith?
I also think it's good that they celebrate in in Hebrew, it might mean they're trying to misionize among Hebrew speaking people.

Estimado Snoopy Yes almost all the Greek Catholics are ethnic Arabs. In this case, as you can tell from his name, Abuna Willebrands is not an ethnic Arab, but ethnically Dutch. I believe part of the ministry of the Lavra is Peace and Reconciliation - naturally, given the social context in which they live. And by God's great mercy, he has been able to cultivate very good relations with the local Arab Christians [down in the valley] as well as now the local Jewish Israelis and local authorities (though it was difficult at first, given that the Lavra occupied the top of hill and thus was an important situ in military and strategic terms - making the local military etc. quite nervous, it being occupied by Christians under the omophor of the local Arab Greek Catholic Bishop). Their chapel is totally cool - being a cave in the hillside. cix Herb
