Thanks for the info on the French audio. I am originally from New England and so came across a lot of French speakers when growing up. Now, alas, only the very elderly there still speak it.
My easiest subject in school was French, and I continue to use it some. I visited a French Mass here in Florida (they have one during the winter months for the snowbird Qubcois), and was in for a rude awakening:
The Mass did not begin in the name of the triune God, they did not use the prayers for that day (where they got them from I don't know), and the creed (for a Sunday Mass) was the Apostles' instead of Nicene even though they were not having baptism, nearly all the congregation over 75, no renewal of baptismal vows). By the time they got to the general intercessions, so much had been contrary to the general instruction that I got up and left. No wonder that Mass attendance in Qubec has gone from about 90% to around 5%!
