All I could think of when I watched that, were the older people who are shut-ins. Can you imagine, coming from a small villiage in Europe - where street processions where the norm when they were young - and to suddenly see Jesus processed through the streets before you very eyes. Oh what rejoicing they must have been doing, their hearts must have thrilled with song and dance and the presence of our Lord coming before them.
Yet, so many who were so oblivious to what was really happening, who never knew, who were never told of Jesus. May the hearts of those blinded by the lights of this world be illuminated by the presence of our Eucharistic Lord, even though they did not understand or see.
Well, Dr. Eric, my first beef with your post would be that it's title seems to belittle the Roman Rite...i.e., stating that the video is cool despite its being Latin.
I would posit, conversely, that it's cool because it is Latin!

Now Teen,
I'm officially a Latin and I had a brief moment of Eucharistic Adoration on my way home from STL yesterday (I saw a Church, pulled off the interstate, went in, prostrated myself in front of the monstrance, said a prayer, and got back on the interstate.)
A controversial title will get people to actually watch the video.
More importantly, you're young, you're single, you're Catholic... have you thought about becoming a priest?
God Bless You,
Dr. Eric
PS Then you could become Priest of the Incarnate Logos!
I'm impressed that the Archdiocese of NY promotes vocations by focusing on the Blessed Sacarament. There is a certain defiance in the video, as well; like, we're going to preach despite your obliviousness, new york.
It was a moving video. I almost ran out and joined seminary! Just kidding, but it made me think about God working in my own life.
I believe that the celebrant is Patriarch Alexy. Can someone confirm ? It's sounds like some kind of litany, in that (thanks to knowing a bit of Macedonian) I can briefly make out the "Hospody Pomiluj"
Anyway, it's not a predicament, but I know what you're getting at...but I'm Roman Catholic and have no desire to be either an Eastern Catholic nor an Easter Catholic married priest!
I guess if I really wanted to be a priest, still be a Roman, and be married all I'd have to do would be to convert to the Episcopal Church, become a priest, get married, and then revert to the Catholic Church and still get to be a married priest after takin' a few classes, thanks to that common Anglican priest dispensation!
I'm good, Pavel, got the same car so the only thing hurting is my shame!
If I ask 99 young men if they think they might have a vocation and they tell me no; but that 100th young man, by my asking, considers a vocation and becomes a priest; then I did my job for the year in trying to foster vocations.
Zig Ziglar said that if it takes 100 sales pitches to sell to only one person, the other 99 were worth it.
Any other Latin teens or un-married men thinking of a vocation to the Holy Priesthood?
P.S. Logos Teen, if you became a Bishop you could institute full freedom of the Tridentine Mass in your diocese.
P.P.S. Logos Teen, have you heard of Fr. Phillip Scott?

Yes, it is Patriarch Alexy II. The link takes you to the Litanies after the Gospel.
