I believe some have been quoted as saying, "First we will take care of Saturday then we will take care of Sunday."

My response to them is to have them view my avatar. smile

How would Muslims know or care that a church would be having dancing? Amazing.

I am unfortunately aware of them, a close friend having lived through a terrifying situation (here in the US) because of them. In that situation, family was involved. In this situation, it appears that they are just calling in threats to unrelated churches around town.

Wondering,

The closest I've come to such behavior are some threatening remarks by some Muslim students against me for daring to teach either that other religions may have something to offer or that I being a kufr would have the affrontery to teach about Islam at all. It is a bit disconcerting.

If the Church advertized its dance even with a sign out front of the Church or even if a parishioner spoke of it to a Muslim friend it isn't hard to see how some radical group would know about the dance.

Every few centuries it seems some radical impulse sweeps through Islam. The more recent seems to combine two elements: One Sunni in origin and the other Shia. The Wahhabists (technically Sunni) are complete barbarians who seemingly hate everybody. They control the Hajj, despise any memorializing of anyone even Muhammad, ban all music, and force women to wear the tent (Bhurka). The Iranian-Syrian Shiites want also to have a puritanical form of Islam dominant in the world. Combine this with the Ba'athist/Nazi influences and one has a rather potent powder keg. Will they be curbed? Who can tell? Only God knows.

I should mention that the event was a parish festival, NOT liturgical dancing! :-)

Little Israel has to do the dirty work for the West.

A place of peace can be found, at least temporarily, once the radical decide it isn't worth it to keep killing people. Until then this war will not stop.

You know, Dan, I have to agree with you. We no longer have the resolve or courage to actually eliminate an enemy. We usually slap at them, or talk them to death, so they can come right back at us and threaten us some more. It's crazy!

Sometimes I disagree with Rush Limbaugh, e.g., his apparent support for unrestrained capitalism or his lack of conservationism. Sometimes I agree with him e.g., most people can do quite well for themselves if given the freedom and encouragement to do so and that Israel should be allowed to clean out the radicals.

He proposed that all the combatants should be identified and then everyone else be barred from helping either side. Then let them go at it until everyone and everything is destroyed by one or the other side. Whoever wins wins it all.

I don't suppose it would work and I do have some moral problems with it but I don't see any other answer. I don't see a temporary cease fire as making any sense at all.
