There's always a little cadre of people who feign sweetness and light while digging into people's wounds. I've seen them all my life and dealt with them as necessary. The only way to survive around them is to realize that they are poops.

I don't know if "poops" has a formal definition but most people realize that it has something to do with childish petulance when nothing of the kind is called for.

Sometimes the only way to deal with poops is acting in the same manner. This I have done. But then, sigh, one must repent.

So, I repent of my poopery (not popery) and hope that other poops will do the same. Not that I won't revert to this behavior again if needed, but just to let you know I'm sorry for the fallout.

If some other method of confronting bullies that works is found please let us all know.

Dear Dan,

You are TOO much! cool

I don't think that you are a party 'poop' or a forum 'poop', but I do accept your apology.

Am I a 'poop' of the forum too? Please tell me if I am, I promise that I won't take offense, and I WILL repent!!!! smile

Dan,

I apologize if I am ever a Poop as well. I'd like to refer to myself as a Poophead though- capital P.

I learned a method when studying behavioral science. They would put persons with bad behaviors "on extinction" in other words not engage them.

Some people just seem to like to agressively debate here, no matter what the subject. I for one don't like to debate just to win a war of words. I came to the forum to try to learn.

I have to laugh when people just tell you outright you are WRONG-no explanation necessary,LOL. According to whom? Makes you feel like you are back in Old Country listening to hardheaded relatives as they slam their fists on the table,LOL. Its hard for me to take that seriously, LOL

Marya, me too, or at least to dialogue rather than debate. Support is good too, both giving it and receiving it. Cheers for your comment. smile

I know what you mean, guys. We seem to have some who live to argue, even when the point of the argument is trivial. But even more, I think we have some who live not in real worlds, but in worlds of words - I don't know how to describe them, otherwise. Nothing is real, nothing is experienced, no wisdom results from experience, it's just a matter of debates - constructing words on top of words meaning little or nothing of practical value. So, in the spirit of true repentance, I think we should all have some penitential ice cream covered in some sacrificial hot fudge, with a profound and sorrowful cherry on top. biggrin Works for me. biggrin Mea poop, Mea poop, Mea maxima poop. biggrin

You bring joy to this old man's heart.

I still remember my first real encounter with a novice monk. He pronounced loudly that he had no use for Christianity. He believed what we must do is find "male spirituality" and live by that. I was thunderstruck. I had never heard anything so stupid in my life. I bit my tongue. I wished I hadn't. But one was supposed to in those days. I gather some still think sane people should be quiet and let the crazies run the asylum. I don't often do that anymore as the world seems to be getting crazier all the time.

The old poop,
wink

I agree-
and for even more penance I request we add some walnuts and 'whipped' cream to that!

Guys, I'm not quite sure what got all this started, but I'd sure love some of that ice cream Sunday.

Y'all are something else.
