I just checked out the Melkite Eparchy's website:

http://www.melkite.org/index.htm

You can still retrieve the Office of educational Services website, though:

http://www.melkite.org/OES.htm

Anyone know what is going on?

I was able to get the 2005 calander.

Looks like someone has invaded the site.

I saw that too, actually. Clearly, the site has been hacked into. On the bright side, it appears that many of the non-"index.htm" pages remain accessible. Also, if you crucially need to access the index, you can go to google.com and search for the Eparchy's website, and then Google will allow you to bring up a cached version of the page.

Hopefully they're aware of this and will do something soon.

God bless,
Jason

Actually, what I just wrote about cached pages is no longer true. It's been hacked for too much time now (I noticed this yesterday, but I don't know how long it's been like this), and Google has since "re-cached" the page... Which means that the cached version is now also the hacked version.

God bless,
Jason

What a waste. I guess I just don't get what pleasure hackers get out of ruining a web site. Hopefully the page gets set right soon.

I know I had used it the day before getting info for someone, maybe it was Thursday or Friday and it was ok. So it all occured since then.

People are bored with too much time on their hands. It is truly a sad thing. Sadder yet is that it shows the state of grace of their souls.

May the Good Lord have mercy on them, bring them to conviction, repentance, and conversion, that they might know our Lord Jesus Christ as their best friend and the Savour of their souls through the prayers of the Most Holy Theotokos, all the angels and saints and in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. amen.

I have notified the Chancery and sent an e-mail to Paul Stamm, the webmaster. You can access anything except the front page if you know the specific web address for it (or search for the subordinate page by using an appropriate topic in yahoo or google). It should be ok by Monday at the latest.

Many years,

Neil
