Yes, I did. I found the acting quite good - rather compelling - a lot of substance and strength in the Therese portrayal, and excellent acting, I thought, with all of the actors.
I had a number of personal criticisms of it... certain things in the film were simply overdone and some things could have been chosen over others to be in the film in the first place - (since much of it is based upon her writings). What about the missionary priests that Therese corresponded with ... I guess that would have been a movie in itself - but that, for example, was left out, while other things were in it instead, which shouldn't have been, like the story of a criminal prior to his execution and the young Therese's prayers for him.
I will probably see it again simply because it helps me to process things in a new way about the saint and her life, and makes me want to read some more, which I've been doing.
I was asked by someone if I thought the message of Therese and her 'little way' was given well in the film. It's impossible for me to say, as I had already read of her - one would have to ask someone who had no knowledge of her and then saw the film to answer that.
It was interesting to get some insight into the family life, and just to meditate on her as a real person, her extreme suffering from TB, the rejection she experienced at school, and so on.
I have no clue what anyone else thought of it except the reviews I've read, most of which were somewhat critical in one way or another.
