This is so totally sad. IF this is the case, I pray this person is granted the grace of becoming a Sacramental Christian, so he will know what he has done before his repose. This is just another reason why Eucharist should NOT be given in the hand.

Ebay needs to examine themselves too, they(the owners and stock holders) are held accountable to God also. The person states...

Fist of all, I AM NOT CATHOLIC AND DO NOT BELIEVE I'M GOING TO HELL FOR SELLING THIS COLLECTIBLE....It's a momento from that great afternoon with Pope John Paul II. Yes, this is the actual Eucharist I saved during the mass that I participated in on October 18th, 1998. I ate one wafer then I went back and got another one to save and he gave me another one, but I did get a very dirty look! I was studying in Florence that semester and a bunch of us went down to Rome that week to partake. I'm not Catholic, but I found it all very interesting.

He says he got a dirty look, I bet the Holy Spirit was giving him a dirty conscience called conviciton.

It is incredibly sad, Pani Rose. I shall pray for this person and ask the Holy Spirit to allow this person to see the terrible sacrilege that is being committed and how deeply this person is offending millions of us, and that this person will be inspired to do what is good and just and deliver our Lord quickly to the nearest priest or deacon.

In His peace,

Charles

The person sold it for $2,000. I pray the person that bought it is a serious Catholic or Orthodox, who will protect it respectfully and not just place it as a trophy. But, someone who, as Charles said, will place it quickly into the loving hands of a priest or deacon. Lord have mercy!

Again E-Bay is an accessory to crime!!!

Is there a way we can report it to the authorities?

Has someone on the forum forward this to the Bishop? To someone?? ANYONE???

How can a non-Catholic RECEIVE Communion!!??

Makes me wonder if we should get the Church start requiring a BADGE proving one is a Catholic??? WHY NOT???

God help us...

The early Christians were taught to fear desecration of your body beloved Jesus, taught that it might even mean their deaths (1 Cor 11:27-29). So much so that even in the face of Roman savagery many refused to eat of the pagan sacrifices and suffered instead to preserve the integrity of our covenantal meal.

This is not just the fault of liberali wishing to share communion, this is the fault of all of us who are allowing Eucharistic abuses to take place constantly under our noses. Just look at how he refers to it 'the wafer'...

...how sad frown

That is so disturbing and sad...

On E-Bay folks are profiteering fromm the passing of the Pope, selling all kinds of memorabilia and items that he touched or blessed.

Creepy...

But the Body of Christ??!! That goes BEYOND sick and sad all the way to disrespectful and sinful in a way I can't describe in words. $2000 is poor compensation for such a stain on one's soul...

I know that many more traditional Catholics are opposed to large scale masses in the open air for just this reason. They may have a point.

Nevertheless, we know that the Church in Jerusalem before the fall of that great city did in fact offer the Eucharist every day in "homes and at the temple". See Acts 2 and 4. So open air Eucharist has a tradition that goes back to the beginning. Those who administer and faithful Catholics must be ever alert to educate people about the holiness of the elements and holiness of the act. The greatest blame must fall upon those who desecrate. May conviction fall upon these persons so that they will repent and convert.

Good morning Dan.

You wrote: "Those who administer and faithful Catholics must be ever alert to educate people about the holiness of the elements and holiness of the act." Well said.

After reading the seller`s description, I am having some doubts as to the veracity of his/her story. Given the large crowds at these liturgies, how plausible is it that this person could have gotten back on line? The Pope normally doesn`t distribute the eucharist for a long time at these liturgies. Alas, we will never know, but I am no less appalled at this sacrilege.

I wish you peace.

I pray for this person who committed this sacrilege that he will repent.

I pray for the rest of us too, especially myself. This sacrilege is only doing in public what we do in private whenever we sin: selling our Lord for the 30 pieces of silver that is whatever we use to justify sin.

Lord have mercy!

You know, I have decided I don't need to buy anything on ebay. They do have some nice icons and, at times, other things that are appealing. But they don't really have anything that can't be gotten elsewhere. We should all stop subsidizing them.

AMEN JOHN, AMEN!

This is so very true, our own sinfulness has attributed to this appaling action. It is kind of like the rotting donkey next to Judas hanging himself in the movie 'The Passion', which represented our sinfulness, our decaying nature before God. Oh my!

Lord have mercy on us gathered in this place and on the whole world. Amen.

"freely have you received, freely give." Matthew 10:8

This is just sick -
to sell the BODY of our Lord for money ...
Last person who did that hanged himself ...

This poor brother need our prayers for mercy.
