Maybe it is well-known to most of you, but the icon web site at
www.agapeicons.com [
agapeicons.com] just came to my attention and I found the icons fascinating and beautiful. (I don't think I've seen anything like the silver icons before.)
Because these sterling silver icons are a Greek tradition, I am quite familiar with them, and can tell you that they are a beautiful treasure for one's home and devotions.
They make beautiful and special engagement, wedding, and christening gifts, and are often given as such in Greece.
Besides becoming heirlooms that one can hand down to family members, they are beautiful enough to adorn a wall or a living room table by placing them on a decorative plate stand. (These are two decorator tips from Athens).
They generally require very little care besides a wipe with a silver cloth every once in a while. Some are even tarnish proof these days.
Agapeicons has one of the best collections this side of the Atlantic!
In Christ,
Alice
