I can't believe I forgot to tell the Forum that I spoke with the Novus Ordo priest last week.

He said I can be received at Easter, and that all I need to do is start going to the RCIA classes (don't worry, this is an orthodox parish and I'll just close my ears if/when I hear heresy wink ) and get involved in the confirmation class program.

I also introduced myself to Father Paul personally today at the Immaculate Conception Mass today (school's a drag, so I played hookie).

So, I'd like to say thanks to everyone who has prayed for me. My family is perfectly fine with my conversion, and it seems I am not solidly on my way to entering the Holy Church this Easter.

God has been incredibly gracious to me, as all of you on this forum have been, as well. I've definitely been edified in the Faith here, and come to really appreciate, love, and respect the Eastern Churches in communion with Rome (and, yes, even those outside of it!).

Dear Logos Teen:

What can I say?

I'm simply ecstatic! And dumbfounded!

My prayers for an "exciting" journey. (Just don't clobber those catechists, OK?)

Dear Teen,

Congratulations! After hanging around here, you'll be at the head of your RCIA class!

Congratulations Logos Teen!!! biggrin

So can I assume that you have not been baptized? A Catechumen is a non-baptized person.

I went through RCIA and was chrismated at the Easter Vigil of 2000, as I was already baptized I was not a catechumen, but a candidate.

I hope and pray your experience with RCIA is better than mine was.... If you need to vent/rant about it, just send me a private message!

Thanks for all the well-wishing.

David, I'm sorry, I totally misspoke. I am baptized and am therefore a candidate rather than a catechumen. I couldn't even imagine the horror of not being baptized!! eek

I'll keep everyone up to date with how RCIA goes. I'll go for the first time tomorrow at 7:00 PM.

God Bless you Teen!

I am proud of you, I think you have the makings of a fine Catholic.

By the time you finish with the RCIA course I'll bet you'd wish they had asked you to teach it instead!

More prayers for you on the way!

Teen,

Why not join one of the Byzantine Rites of the Church? I think you would be happier instead of Latin Rite.

Yes, Rose, definitely a typo!!

Catholic Man,

Thanks for recommendation, but I believe that I'm thoroughly Latin in spirituality. I identify more with the "Latin way," although I love the Eastern Churches. Perhaps when I am older and have been Catholic for many years I can "test out" the Eastern Catholic Churches again and see if they're right for me. But, as of right now, I'm definitely Roman (with some Eastern-leaning opinions).

Dear Teen,

I am SO happy. The Roman Catholic Church will be lucky to have you...keep them on the right track! smile

I know that you will! wink

May God bless you always as you enter into sacramental and liturgical fullness, and may you continue to grow spiritually in His name and in the Church.

After you officially enter the Church, try to go to Rome and the Vatican after graduation. You will be so profoundly moved...I was!!!

With much love in Christ,
Alice

Finally... smile Now we won't be able to make any quips like "when are you going to get with it and become Catholic". biggrin May the Holy Spirit guide your formation and bless your full initiation in the Church.

That's wonderful news. May your spiritual journey be filled with joy and your faith only increase.

God grant you many years,
