There is a bizarre article, even by the standards of the liberal newsmedia. It is about women selling their eggs (their reproductive eggs) for money. Now, I know that men and women have been selling their reproductive material for years -- which is bad enough. What makes this article remarkably bizarre is that it discusses the practice without any moral or ethical references. In other words, it assumes that this practice is ethical and moral, and it says nothing about the possible effects on the kid when the kid discovers that he or she was, in effect, sold. ("Mommy sold me for tuition and beer money.") Instead, the article discusses the practice as merely a clever way for college women to make extra money -- and the only drawback listed are possible side-effects to health. Is it just me, or does anyone else find this bizarre? These people are, in effect, selling their children . . .

These new abominations are the result of contraception. This was prophesied by Pius XI in Casti Conubii:

By Paul VI in Humanae Vitae:

By John Paul II in Evangelium Vitae:

But especially in the book Brave New World by Aldous Huxley.

Once procreation is separated from intercourse, then these things become permissable. There are even some "theologians" who have actually come out and said that since intercourse and procreation are separate then homosexality, masturbation, sex with machines, bestiality, and worse are permissable. This is the flip side, procreation without intercourse (why take all the fun out of it?)

Essentially these women are prostitutes, selling their bodies for the highest bidders. Instead of selling the orgasm of intercourse, they sell the origins of life. Yet they are selling the same thing.

As I am not a geneticist or an gynecologist I cannot say for sure what the complications are from this Nazi-esque technique. What I do know is that this is just another step on the downward spiral to Hell.

Dr. Eric,

Thank you for the links and for the analysis. I am coming around to the same conclusions. This is hard for me, on the one hand, because I lived for over 30 years thinking that birth control was good and the Church was being silly and prudish in opposing it. More and more, however, as I see the result of the contraception mindset and culture, especially things like you mentioned, I am concluding that the Church is right and the world has gone out of its mind with contraception.

Dear John,

You should hear what Our Father in the Faith St. John Chrysostom says about contraception!
