Hi. I cannot read Latin. Is this for real? A relic of St. Mark the Apostle? Here is the link:

If you look at the User's other items, also included are relics of St. Nicholas, St. Catherine, and St. Mary Magdelene. What is up here?

Thank you.

Dear Michael,

Your icon of Saint Michael is outstanding. As for the sales of religious items at Ebay, they probably are real. It is not a sin to buy them, but it is a sin to sell them. But as they said, they are not allowed by law to sell body parts, so they are selling the reliquary and are giving the 'relic' as a gift.

From what I've heard, these probably belonged to a church, that has gone the way of the 'liberals'. For shame!!!! Actually what shocks me the most, is how low the bidding prices are.

Dear Zenovia,

Thank you for the information. I did a further search for reliquaries and was shocked at what I discovered.

There is one that has my wife's patron Saint and one actually looks like it has a bone chip from a Saint.

Do you think a priest or very devouted lay person would enjoy receiving one of these as a gift? To go on the home alter, to actually have a relic (whether first or second class) of a Saint. A concept that I honestly have never imagined. Just having an icon that is created in the true manner is a wonderous privilage to me. :-)

Regarding the icon of St. Michael, I honestly do not remember where I found it. It is beautiful though.

Take care and please remember to pray for all in the path of Wilma!

Michael
