Hello

Funny thing last week I was at the bus when I met some foreign lady, a Swedish woman who came here to investigate about Our Lady of Guadalupe.

She started talking about the Jesus Prayer and even quoted the fathers of the desert for example, sounded like a hardcore Orthodox but then she handed me a booklet about a conference she was going to give. She was a theosophist.

She really knew a lot about the Orthodox practices and other things that seemed very interesting. She said the true theosophy has its roots in Eastern-Orthodox mysticism and we talked about Madame Blavatsky and other things.

I always had the idea of theosophy being a kind of freemasonry and qabalarian thing but she said I was wrong and told me that both Codreanu and Mircea Eliade where theosophists.

Is it forbidden to take part in theosophist reunions and groups?

Have NOTHING to do with theosophy or theosophists - no matter what they tell you, it is not Christian (it's actually a form of Hinduism).

Dear Mexican,
Run as fast as you can from groups like this!

I joined a group to help me manage my practice, they said that their management courses were based on the secular writings of L Ron Hubbard. Pretty soon, at the end of one of the courses they asked me to write down every bad thing I did that was holding me back from reaching my potential. I flat out refused (by the Power of the Holy Ghost.) Then they told me to write something down. I flat out refused, and told them I hadn't done anything that was holding me back. Besides that I made a General Confession of everything at the Holy Shrine of Knock in Ireland. Then it escalated. The proctor of the course brought in her supervisor and they both started in one me and I still refused. After a while of brow beating I wrote down something like I didn't try my hardest on a pt. they let that go. But another Indian doctor they really got to and he cried out, "You're making me feel like some kind of monster!" I only wish I had stepped in and inteceeded for him and got him some help.

Stay away from all the Cults!!! $cientology was founded by L Ron Hubbard who was a disciple of Alestar Crowley, the English Satanist. Hubbard was trying to spawn the Antichirist in the 40s by "Sex Magick" with some girl he and another man seduced. $cientolgy is "Black Magic done slowly over time to get as much money as possible." - L Ron Hubbard Jr.

I quit that group after a few months when I suspected them of being a cult. I never caved in (only through the Grace of God and the Sacraments which kept me strong!) I am pleased to say one of the guys I met there also quit. I am sad to say that many are in it and many join each day.

Theosophy, Kabballah, Masonry, and any New Age thing; they are all occultic and inspired by the Devil. Stay Away!

Hi Dr. Eric

Thanks for your testimony. It caught my atention that some former theosophist have embraced Orthodox Christianity just like the "Holy Order of Mans". I do believe there is a lot of business with these groups, you end up paying for courses and connferences and buying books and stuff.

I do believe that they are less bad than the Protestants but it's good to stay away from them.

By the way, now that you mention Scientiology is this the same sect founded by a woman who wrote "Science and Health"? The Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Moscow Patriarchate) recently made a campaign against them because of their proselitysm and heretical teachings.

Not only Mme Blavatsky, but G.I.Gurdjieff and P.D.Ouspensky had roots in Russian Orthodoxy and went on to theosophical careers. They claimed continuity; Gurdjieff claimed to receive training on Mt Athos. Given some of the more esoteric hesachyst schools on the Holy Mountain, there may be some truth to the claim: there has been an emphasis here and there on physical technique, which produces a psychosomatic effect.
But Gurdjieff divorced the technique entirely from any Christian context [already problematic, IMO].
Theosophy is a bizarre mishmash of western esoteric thought and Hinduism and is to be shunned by anyone with any desire to serve the Living God.

Mary Baker Eddy, author of "Science and Health", was dead before "$cientology" got going, although it's possible that Hubbard plagiarized some of her stuff (I wouldn't know). She founded her own cult: "Christian Science", which is also best avoided although they do (or did) publish a respected daily newspaper.

"Christian Science" was grinding to a halt a few decades ago - cults have a way of doing that - but it would not completely surprise me if it should happen that a new bunch of lunatics and worse have joined them.

In any event, stay far, far away from all such spiritual deceit.

L Ron Hubbard plagarized lots of stuff and techniques for mind control and gave them quasi-scientific names to get copy right and patent control on his methods. Remember he was associated with Crowley who came from the same time period and ilk that Blavatsky did.

Once again stay away.

Here's a link to a site that is exposing the truth about $cientology. The same could be related to Theosophy since they have the same roots.

They are not charitable on the site at all, be warned.
