On August 6, the Feast of the Transfiguration, my wife, Theresa, gave birth to our 7th child and 3rd son, Carlos. Baby weighed in at 7lbs 12 oz and is 20 1/2" long, both mom and baby are doing fine. Needless to say I won't be around much during the next few days, so behave out there. biggrin

Deacon John,

Congratulations to you and Pani Theresa. As the father/stepfather of 7, 3 of whom are also boys, I rejoice (and empathize wink ) with you.

Prayers for Carlos, his Mom and Dad, and his brothers and sisters. May God grant Carlos many long and happy years.

Neil

Dear Deacon John,

My heartfelt best wishes for the birth of your precious little son, Carlos. May God bless him with good health and happiness for all the years of his life.

My prayers also for you and your wife that he will sleep through the night sooner than later! smile

Deacon John:

Congratulations and may the Lord continue to bless you, your wife, and all your children--esepcially Carlos at this time.

Whenever I think of new babies, I go back to the prayer I wrote when my son was born 26 years ago. I offer it to you and your wife today:
_________________________
Be mindful, O Lord, of my daughter, (Name), and my son, (Name), for who I humbly pray and commend to Your gracious care and protection. Be, O Lord, their Guide and Guardian in all their endeavors. Lead them into the path of Your Truth. Draw them ever nearer to You. Grant that they may lead a god-fearing and righteous life, always in Your love. Grant that their souls, being helped by Your Grace and sanctified by Your Holy Mysteries, may be prepared for their passage to eternal life by a life that is now temperate, industrious, diligent, devout, and charitable. Have mercy on them and save them that they may finally attain to a Perfect Communion with You, Our God, both in this life and in the life to come. For to You are due all glory, honor, and worship, to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, now and ever and forever. AMEN.
______________________________
And it never hurts to pray for one's best friend, partner, spouse--

Lord, my God, have mercy on ________ and me. Grant that we may perceive that the married state is holy and that we must keep it so. Grant that no strife, quarrel, or enmity may arise between us or hereafter become active among us. Grant us our Daily Bread whereby we may ever serve You with a quiet mind and deepen our Communion with You and with each other. Let us finally attain to Your Kingdom and have You recognize us as Your own. For to You are due all glory, honor, and worship, together with Your Father Who is from everlasting, and Your All-Holy, Good, and Life-giving Spirit, now and ever and forever. AMEN.
___________________________

I will always credit the Lord and this prayer (the Holy Spirit made me do it!) for the fact that neither of my children has ever been a problem or been in trouble. Each is a blessing that just keeps on giving!! May all of yours be so.

Many Years,

BOB
