Christ is Risen!

Has anyone seen a nice Sofrino-style Our Lady of Czestochowa Icon? Similiar to my new avatar. Thanks for your help.

Indeed, He is risen!

Dear John,

Sofrino makes a reproduction of the Czestochowa Icon. I have one.

If you look here on the Sofrino catalogue [sofrino.ru] you'll see they offer two styles of it. Scroll down toward the bottom.

Hi John,

The Sofrino website (http://www.sofrino.ru/cat.php3?cat_id=213&pages=18&page_count=17&sort=name) has two versions:

I don't know how to buy items from Sofrino, though, short of going to Moscow. I also don't know if there is anyone in the US who sells these icons.

Dave, they are available in NYC from one distributor I know of. If you (or John) can't get one and want one let me know and I can get it here.

Thanks Tony and Dave.

Both icons are beautiful!

Sofrino does wonderful work.

If I can't locate the icon, I'll PM you Tony.

I bought several of the large Sofrino cardboard-backed icons in Wilno, saw the name on the back, & then found their website. I contacted them requesting info on buying them, but the Russian reply came out all scrambled.

If anyone knows their representative in the US, I would be pleased to have that information.

The icons are beautiful, of very nice quality.

It is a beautiful icon. If someone can PM me the address of their representative here in the US, I will pick up a number through our bookstore. I will then offer them to the members of the forum at cost, plus shipping. My regular customers will have to pay the resale price. So, if someone can PM me the information, I'll get the ball rolling to order them, and let you know when they are here.

I hope this will help.

In IC XC,
Father Anthony+

PS Just so you know I have had a fascination/veneration of this icon since the days of the solidarity movement. When I was in Poland it was interesting to see especially in the eastern part of the country the locally venerated saints and their icons, such as the New Martyrs of Bylastok, and the Child-Martyr Gabriel, both of which I have their icons in my office.

Everyone baptized into Christ should pass progressively through all the stages of Christ's own life, for in baptism he receives the power so to progress, and through the commandments he can discover and learn how to accomplish such progression. - Saint Gregory of Sinai
