Yesterday I was watching TV late at night and found a documentary about Pope John Paul I, well two or three programmes, I don't remember their titles, only the second one with an unfortunate title, "The Assesination of Pope John Paul I".
I think that Pope John Paul I would have been a great pope, he was so happy and euphoric, it's sad that he died so soon, he wasn't political at all (not like Paul VI or John Paul II), he was more concerned about spiritual things.
My atention was captured by his ability yo be with the people, he was really close to the faithful (like JP II but in a different way) always smiling and happy.
The second documentary explained some things related to the scandal in the Ambrossian Bank and how that guy who lost 1300 million dolars was killed in that bridge in London, and they said that probably the Pope was poissoned because he was about to discover the scandal.
After seeing this, it's impossible not to think about the terrorist attack that JP II suffered in Rome and how those right-wing american politicians invented those things about "the soviet complot" and all that garbage they had invented (the good thing is that when the Pope visited Bulgaria he declared that everything was a invention).
I have seen interviews with that crazy man Agca and all I know is that he is absolutely crazy (he said he was Jesus Christ the Messiah and many things), so how can people believe that "soviet complot"?
After the documantary we get some bitter flavor. can the death of Pope John Paul I and the terrorist atack against John Paul II be related?
I prefer not to think about it. Anyway I think that Pope John Paul I was a great servant of the Church.
Some people are now fighting for his beatification, here a link:
