In IC XC,
Father Anthony+

Everyone baptized into Christ should pass progressively through all the stages of Christ's own life, for in baptism he receives the power so to progress, and through the commandments he can discover and learn how to accomplish such progression. - Saint Gregory of Sinai

It is obviously a joke, but a very appropriate one for our day.

For those with no faith, it may appear to be a reasonable proposal.

For those who have Christ, it should help remind us of what is really on the other side.

In Christ,
Andrew

Well I have no desire to click on the links on here, but look towards the bottom of the page, I googled mammon...
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=mammon&btnG=Google+Search

What is it that Scripture says about man turning away from sound doctrine and desiring only that that 'tickles their ears'

Considering that Dean Sachs is an American - yes I presume that it must have come from the USA .

However Europeans I'm sure can produce similar stuff frown

We really do not need to make such comments

Dear Forum,

This is a Christian Joke... I saw this on Jimmy Akin's blog a few months ago. (Jimmy Akin is the senior apologist of Catholic Answers.)

His blog is: www.jimmyakin.org [jimmyakin.org]

Cahtolic Answers is: www.catholic.com [catholic.com]

Really it is a social commentary on what people are interested in these days. People don't want to hear the true Gospel they want something to "tickle their ears." eek

I don't want to pre-empt Myles, but it seemed to me that you guys were getting worried.

don't get all excited over this, folks. the ad appealed to my cynical side (the Dark Side will forever control your destiny, young Nightwatcher, yeah, okay, whatever  ). I got a chortle out of it. nothing more refreshing than blatant honesty. all too often, the bottom line in too many churches here in the US of A, is the almighty dollar. some years ago, I saw a cartoon where people prostrated trhem selves before a dollar sign, again, at least they were honest, if not religiously correct. what about us, folks? are we flirting with Mammon? those who stand take heed lest you fall. eek
Much Love,
Jonn

Sounds like satire from The Onion.
