Father Deacon X...I mean Lance!
No! I did not stay through to see Dr. Xavier's resurrection. What happened? I don't want to have to see the whole thing again to find out!
I was a Silver Surfer and Hawkeye reader myself... ;-)

Gordo,
Exelsior!
If you recall at the start of the movie Professor Xavier was lecturing his class on ethics and refered them to a case of man without any brain function and whether it would be ethical for a mutant with mind powers to transfer the mind of someone else suffering a physical disability into that man's body. Well at the end of the credits, roll to the hospital with Moira McTaggert monitoring that man. He turns to Moira and says: "Hello, Moira" but in Charles Xavier's voice! See you next time true believer!
Fr. Deacon Lance,
Pathetic comic book nerd and fan of Spiderman, Avengers, X-Men, Ghostrider, and countless others.

In response to Ebed's post. The two-faced character is hauntingly symblolic of "lukavoho", the 'evil one' in Otce Nash. Did not the 'covering cherub' fall from his former position of glory and service, to become the arch-enemy of God and His carnal (as in fleshly) image, ...us...mankind, culminating in the ultimate persecution...of the Ikon of the Father. As our Lord said, "if you have seen Me, you have seen the Father.."! There is something that is peculiar, to this, it is the observation that those beguiled into witchcraft are more oftimes women. How does the evil forces work in the minds of people? But, we do get a glimpse, as in the temptation of Eve, "that you may become as gods". All this is just re-warmed paganism, the shape-changers, the forbidden powers, the lust for power (did we already forget the prayer of St Ephraim..? I, personally, have since my early evangelical-ist days, looked for things redeemable. Things such as, redemption, sacrifice, goodness, overcoming evil and temptation, as St Paul admonishes, "think on these (good) things". As in Star Wars, the 'Yoda' character, 'yod' in Hebrew is 'knowledge, or one who has a special access to such knowledge'...of which Gnostics and others who profess such things claim. Well, tis late and must get some shuteye. Later, mik S Bohom

I don't know about the euthenasia that happened in X3. Prof Xavier at the time was dead. No one at that point was able to stop Jean Grey, including herself, thanks to Xavier suppressing emotions and powers. If anything, Xavier had done the world a disservice by suppressing Jean's powers. At the climax of the movie Jean was destroying everything near her, and we already know that Prof X can't help. Which would you rather, the destruction of New York or the killing of one person to stop it, since there's no other way?The situation is sort of like the death penalty, if there is no other way to keep the criminal from escaping then you must kill the criminal. And I know that all people can be saved, but however at that point in time Jean could not have been saved, she would have devoured the planet. In the comics the Phoenix could destroy a SUN in a few seconds, I highly doubt they would have come up with a solution that fast.
I'll be honest, I wouldn't have changed what Wolverine did. I know that sounds cold and cruel (and perhaps evil), but one must choose the lesser of two evils when there's seemingly no good to choose.
I hope I haven't offended by opening my big and experienced mouth, but there it is.
Peace of Christ, Nathan Augustine
