Dear Babtsiu,

When I was in New Orleans, I found out that their patron, Our Lady of Prompt Succour (also patron of Louisiana) is invoked against hurricanes and storms.

She was invoked against a fire that turned away from the Ursuline Convent where the image was formerly kept and then helped achieve a swift victory in the Battle of New Orleans.

When people there here of an impending hurricane, they often go straight to St Louis' Cathedral or to the Ursuline Academy to invoke her protection, saying: Our Lady of Prompt Succour, hasten to help us!

I"ve my own little shrine of OLPS at home and I now feel like real Southerner from N'Awlins . . . wink .

Thank you, Mother of Perpetual Succour, for protecting your people against the storms!

Alex

Dear Dmitri,

How's the weather today from where you are?

I was going to mention you by name in my post, but then I thought I had enough of a problem trying to figure out the reactions of Francisco and Nikolai . . . smile

May Our Lady of Prompt Succour continue to deflect those storms away from her beloved City of New Orleans!

God bless the people of New Orleans and Louisiana!

(And that means you too, Big Guy!)

Slava Isusu Christu!

Dear freiends,

I know I have been praying to St. Vitus protector against storms before Vespers.

I wonder how many other groups were doing this?

Hi,

The reason I asked is because a few weeks ago on
Living His Life Abundantly author Michael Brown was promoting his book"Sent to Earth:God & the Return of Natural Disasters". He was interesting. He spoke about changing the course of events through prayer. It struck me that a humble simple person even though it is unknown, that they may have changed the course of important world events through prayer, even though they are not prominent scientists and researchers or world leaders.

a pray-er not a rocket scientist

Slava Isusu Christu!

Dear Nicky's Baba,

I believe the power of prayer can be one of the most powerful forces in life. The power of prayer has often been the sustaining influence in people's lives during times of sickness, despair, and other crisis.

I know good people do not need to be rocket scientists to know that praying to God for intercession is a key to our spiritual lives.

The disciples Peter and his brother Andrew were only humble fisherman, but through their faith in our Lord Jesus Christ they engraved their names in world history and changed the course of world history.

As believers in Jesus Christ I believe through the power of our prayers we do heal sickness, help people, spiritually grow, and change events.

Say hello to Nicky for me.
