This past year, I met a wonderful nun from Washington state who is part of a women's community associated with Holy Resurrection Monastery. I cannot recall their name, however!

Does anyone know their name and location in Washington? (I believe it was Olympia.)

Also, do they have a website?

Thanks and God bless!

I have not had the privilege to vist this community but I hear only good reports from those who have visited. They are lay women who dress simply as they seek formal status as a monastic community. They are presently under the protection of the Byzantine-Romanian Catholic Church (Bishop JOHN of Canton).

THanks very much!

Out of curiosity, do they now have a chapel, as well as a chaplain for their community? Or do they attend services at OLPH-BCC in Olympia?

BTW, Pavel, for some reason the pics did not come across. Maybe the site only works down under!

No they dont work for me either. However I would say that it might be better to try http://www.olphshrine.com and check the pics of the pilgrimage 2000 - 2005 and try and spot them. Look for the photo section on the list on the left.

I am pretty sure they don't have a chaplain. I think their monastery was once an old folks home and I know HRM has sent up all that was required to set up a chapel in the best of taste.

The ladies are now affiliated with the Romanian Eparchy, not the Ruthenian(Eparchy of Van Nuys) and St George's. Seems strange, since they are practically right next door to St George's. I understand that they now have a Ukrainian Catholic priest who comes to their home. They left the eparchy at the same time as Holy Resurrection Monastery. Apparently the Romanians dont have a priest they can spare for the ladies.
In the past, the ladies were in the front row at St George's at Sunday Divine Liturgy, but we visited last month and they were not present.
