Why was the "Politics as usual" thread closed? Wasn't that a little heavy-handed?

I closed it because it was not constructive. Jennifer began the thread by issuing a criticism. I wish she would have begun the thread with a suggested course of action instead.

Dear Administrator, Sir, I will grant that Ms Jennifer has tended to be a bit contentious in her postings, but this was a legitimate question, one on the minds not only of committed prolifers who, like me, abstained from voting for Mr Bush, but of those many more who voted for him because of moral issues, and are now wondering if they are going to be betrayed. I sincerely hope that your own pro-Bush sentiments are not leading you to engage in partisan censorship... -Daniel, your compatriot in all but political things

Daniel,
Your claim that the Administrator acted with a heavy hand and the inference that the Administrator acted our of "pro-Bush" sympathies are baseless. You had already started a thread on confronting Senator Santorum on November 6 because of his support of Senator Spector. No one has locked that thread. Do we really need a parallel thread?

Fr Deacon John, parallel threads are certainly nothing new on the Forum. And this was in a nuanced way a very different thread. Mr Bush owes his victory to those who voted for him on the basis of his purported prolife, and anti-gay marriage stances. As this is the first test of that commitment it is a relevant topic, quite apart from Mr Santorum's support of Senator Specter. -peace, Daniel

Dear Friends,
"Senator Santorum?"
I thought you were talking about "Acta Sanctorum!"
