get to a point where I understand even 1/2 of what is written here? You are all so knowledgeable and educated that I feel like a real dunderhead. How long does it take before I get to where I can understand more than just your subject lines and signatures (though I confess I don't always understand those either!)? Carole - the recognition of mystery is the sign of a very advanced Eastern Christian.

Dear Carole: You are all so knowledgeable and educated that I feel like a real dunderhead. Don't you worry, I still do! Amado

Carole,
I have been studying and working at this since 1987. Had I been with it a lifetime I am thinking there would still be much to learn.
Ah, for the mystery!
Bless you and take heart as you really are not alone in your learning.
In Christ,
Mary Jo...she who stumbles often...

When Father Loya first asked me if I wish to pursue the priesthood I just stared blankly at him for several seconds. I couldn't imagine that I would ever be able to learn what I would need to know in order to be a priest even though I'd been a United Methodist Pastor for several years. After six years I'm still not sure I'll ever learn all I need to know but I'm willing to try.

Whew! Glad to know I'm not the only one who gets lost sometimes. Sometimes everything I read seems like it might as well be written in Greek. But it encourages me to keep learning so that I won't be lost forever. hehe

Carole
Just do what I do. Do an extensive search on a particular subject than talk like it's something you've known about all your life.

I have been a convert for 25 years now and been hanging around here since 2001. I have learned so much If only I could quit forgetting what I have learned :p and have to learn it over again, I would be so much further ahead Pani Rose

And here I was thinking y'all were a bunch of nice, helpful people! I see how you really are ...
Silly!
That's what you are. Either that or I bring out the inner joker in everyone.

Kobzar above posted this "Слава Ісусу Христу!". Phonetically pronounced it would be like "slava isusu christu!". You will often hear shouts of this in Ukrainian churches. Roughly translated it means "where's the food!". Andrew

Carole - surely you don't believe that the rest of us understand even 50% of what's discussed on this happy forum.
