Can someone fill me in on the historical/spiritual significance of the Eastern Christian dome?

I'm well versed in the aesthetics (may they rest in peace frown ) of sacred Western architecture, but could use a primer on EC churches from an obliging soul.

Dear Booth,

This article is an overview in general on the architectural significance of the Orthodox Church, and of course, includes domes. It would be a good place to start. Hopefully it is not too basic for you.

Gaudior, with humble bow

Gaudior,

Thank you, that was insightful.
