Recently, we had a discussion regarding the "conservative" branch of the Anglican Communion perhaps seeking communion with the see of Rome. Some posters opined that either an Anglican Use Rite or an Anglo-Catholic sui juris Church might be the answer. Hoever, I doubt this group of Episcopalians will be seeking communion with Rome for the following:
1.) Unlike the group that "dissented" with the Anglican Communion over the ordination of women, this "traditional" group has embraced the notion of the ordination of women. IMHO, this is a bigger issue than the ordination of Gene Robinson, from a Catholic/Orthodox theological standpoint. The ordination of Gene Robinson is an issue of morality, not theology.
2.) AP has reported that the leader of this "traditional" group, Robert W. Duncan, Episcopalian Bishop Of Pittsburgh, will be working within the Anglican Communion. Hardly an endorsement on seeking communion with Rome.
I'm sure there are other reasons, but these seem to me to be the major issues.
