Green light for new pro-life priest order

Amarillo, Jan. 13, 2006 (CNA) - Fr. Frank Pavone, head of the group, Priests for Life, has announced that a new priestly society--one devoted to work in the pro-life movement--has been given the go-ahead from Bishop John Yanta, head of the Diocese of Amarillo Texas, to begin work immediately.

The society, called the Missionaries of the Gospel of Life, was authorized by Bishop Yanta and Reverend Michael Colwell, JCL, Vicar General and Chancellor for the Diocese on December 12th to “officially and in the name of the Church” train priests, deacons, and lay missionaries, to, as the group put it, “advance the dignity of human life.”

A delighted Fr. Pavone called the occasion “historic.” “Never before”, he said, “has there been a community within the Church specifically dedicated to ending abortion and euthanasia.”

He explained that “The society's work will involve a broad spectrum of pro-life action, including motivating people to elect pro-life candidates, lobbying for the confirmation of Supreme Court Justices, and advocating for people like Terri Schiavo.”

“We will not tire”, he promised, “until the mass-killing of children ends, and every human life, from conception to natural death, is valued and protected in America.”

YES!

And the man that Fr. Pavone has working closley with the priests is Jim Pinto, a former Episcopalian Priest - now Roman Catholic, along with his family, even their grown children followed him into the Church. He is so on fire for the Lord, oh how the Holy Spirit moves when he speaks. He is from here in Birmingham and his wife, Joy is currently undergoing treatment for cancer. A powerful(spiritually) family in love with our Lord.

So with Fr. Pavone and Jim Pinto, who does a lot of speaking for Prolife, together things will move mightly for the Lord and Prolife Priests of which they have a good number of young men already in school. biggrin

So please pray for Jim that he will be accepted into the priesthood of the Catholic Church and also for healing for Joy with complete remission of cancer.

Hello,

It's either a question or a concern that I have:

What legal status would the order be? Because I know that pro-lifers get sued all the time and lost tons of money.

So sometimes active Pro-Lifers let their spouses or other family members take legal pocession of the house, cars, any major items. For example, allow their mother's name on the title of the house or car or whatever, so that when they are sued, they really have "nothing" at all for the enemy to take away.

So, my question or concern is...what will come to the religion order if their priest or brothers or whatever get sued? Will that hurt the order's property, pocessions, etc.?

(like the Diocese end up paying millions for sex abuses that individual priests have done...so it affected the Diocese rather than individual priests). Does that make sense?

That's interesting though.

Man can't take away what God has given, Scrpiture says very plainly - 'My grace is sufficient'.
These are the ones to be concerned about regarding abortion...

PS
I know some are going to get upset that I post this, but until it is changed in Congress and the Courts that hold this attitude which has to change, abortion will continue.

Dear Pani Rose,

I am going to be honest. I stopped watching EWTN because of Father Pavone. For one, he has an obsession, and frankly I don't know what he is accomplishing by it?

Now in the past 20 years more and more liberal judges have been placed on the bench. These judges have managed to change our society and culture so that we have the immorality and promiscuity that exists today. Because of pornography and the sexuality that is impressed on our young people in their formative ages of ll, 12, and 13, that by the time they are 14, (an age that at one time children would be sneaking a smoke), they are having illicit sex with one and all. At least where I live.

So for the past twenty years we have had the 'abortion activists' panic stricken that people like Father Pavone will bring us back to the time when women were given abortions in back alleys...but there is a difference. Today it won't only be women but 12, 13 and 14 year old girls.

So we have this vicious cycle. The abortion rights activists out of fear and concern for the welfare of women, have seen to it that only liberal judges are placed on the bench. But these same liberal judges are the one's that have been changing our society so that we now have these sexually active and very confused children.

By sexually active and confused, I mean children that are expermenting in every perversion imaginable...thinking they are 'cool'. As I said, what is Father Pavone accomplishing?

So if someone truly wants the situation to change, they will try to downplay the abortion issue, so that we can get some more logical judges in our courts. That way our society can start changing, and by changing our society and the immorality that is rampant, the abortion issue will gradually solve itself.

I'm sorry Pani Rose if I offended you or anyone, but there is a world out there. Everything is not black and white.

Zenovia,

You have not offended me in the least. You expressed your concerns very well.

However, don't let one person force you to leave something that may feed you spiritually otherwise. That is what the mute on remotes are for. biggrin

There is a viscious cycle going on for sure. However, unless people speak up forcefully at times as well as lovingly at times many people do not hear. Where you have ears to hear, many do not hear - sometimes it may seem that someone is shouting when they are speaking firmly without trepedation and that is whay Fr. Pavone does. Also, he says it is black and white, there is no in between. It is kind of like someone riding the fence as far as faith in Christ. Scripture says we can't stradle the fence - that is what happens a lot in prolife understanding - and Scripture is very clear, abortion is sin.

I am sorry, if I am harping. I always enjoy reading your posts and hope I have not offended you in anyway also.

I suppose being raised Southern Baptist, I grew up on hell, fire, and brimstone sermons so his are mild.
