you should go pursue this monomania of yours elsewhere, after, of course, wiping the foam from around your mouth, so that folks do not think you rabid... [/QB] You claim to be part of the Church Militant? No monomania on my part. The thread that precipitated my recent threads misrepresented as "Christians" unnamed individuals who threw a couple eggs during a "gay rights march" imposed upon a society that by democratic process had voted to protect itself from such depravity. And posters here piled onto that mischaracterization, and continue to do so now. Mine was simply an attempt to instruct the seemingly ignorant. I posted a couple threads in response to that one, and have been the subject of ad hominem attack for my efforts ever since. It sure makes one wonder just what kind of "militants" hang out here... :rolleyes: Instead of insulting the messenger, I suggest you take a closer look at what IS being tolerated here, not falsely labelling others as monomaniacs or intolerant simply for reacting to a pathetically spun article here meant to insult Christians.

Then "please, oh please," post something more timely and less offensive, like a recipe for Imperial Torte. Your statement is incorrect. It is the extremely angry way in which your posts come across that make you appear to be hate-filled. I suggest that it would be better for your discussions to concentrate on solutions to the problems the Church faces rather than simply providing an endless repetition of stating the problem. Loose the emotion. State only what is fact. Do not immediately assume that anyone who disagrees with the way you have stated something is supporting something immoral. Provide solutions to the problems. And realize that people need to talk about something else once in awhile.

:rolleyes: " sarcasm is the lowest form of wit ' [/QB] Its also the most common form of "gallows humor," (a Standard term for humor that makes light of life-and-death or other terrifying or very serious matters.) Sometimes sarcasm is a sign of anger, and sometimes gallows humor is the only humor left that is appropriate, as in the development of these recent threads.

Patience is certainly being tested. I am closing these threads to give the forum (and myself) a rest.
Let us please remember, we are in a fasting season. We would do well to remember the prayer of Saint Ephrem:
O Lord and Master of my life, take from me the spirit of sloth, despondency, lust of power, and idle chatter;
Instead, grant me the spirit of chastity, humility, patience, and love.
Yes, O Lord and King, grant me the grace to be aware of my sins, and not to judge my brother or sister; for You are blessed forever and ever.
Amen.
