The ordination of Deacon Dave Thomas yesterday at Epiphany of Our Lord Byzantine Catholic Church was a marvelous event!
Bishop Andrew celebrated the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy along with 5 concelebrating priests and 2 deacons. 6 deacon candidate lectors, his classmates, were servers and assistants to the Bishop.
There was a fine showing from his parish, St. Cyril and Methodius in Cary, NC. A very special guest was his 91 year old father from Cleveland. The voices of the cantors and all the people filled the church throughout the liturgy.
The repast afterward was also very festive, and everyone got to spend time with newly ordained Deacon Dave.

https://www.byzcath.org/users/diaconate/ As an aside, I got to meet Mor Ephrem. What a delight! I was impressed by his knowledge, faith and dedication, particularly at a young age. I wish him well and pray for him as he ponders some important decisions in life. I hope he visits us again soon.
