Thank you all for the welcome, it was very nice of you. smile

I have been going through the many posts on the rest of the forum and it's because of that that I haven't posted outside of this thread yet - I don't know where to begin! biggrin

So, I will start by replying to some of your questions.

By eastern are you referring to Eastern Catholic or Eastern Orthodox? I suppose it doesn't matter because the answer to both would be yes! biggrin

I have worshipped in many of the local Orthodox churches - basically from all the jurisdictions that have a church within a 30-40 minunte drive from home. Those would include the GOA, UOC, OCA, AOC, ROCOR, and the GOC. I have been wanting to learn more about the Oriental Orthodox Churches, so I've also recently visited a Coptic Orthodox Church as well.

I hadn't been to any Eastern Catholic Churches at all until Lent of this year when I visited a Ruthenian/Byzantine church several times during Holy Week. I did enjoy my visit there and found both the priest as well as many of the parishioners I met there to be very kind.

I've not yet been to any other Eastern Catholic Churches, but I would like to eventually visit a Maronite parish as well as a Ukrainian Greek Catholic church. I am interested in learning more about their traditions and hope to attend some liturgies when I can.

I have already learned a lot just from going through posts on this forum! biggrin

Thank you again everybody and may God bless and keep you!

In Christ,
Aaron

Crystal Gayle sang about "Made up places with counterfeit names". wink

To paraphrase one of our Popes, "Outside of Brooklyn, there are no Dodgers!" :p

All else is Hollywood hype! :p

I do agree that the Cubs are cool! cool

But since they got lights at Wrigley Field, less so. frown

I've been a National League fan since those Texas rascals stole our beloved Senators a while back. mad

As for the grass at Chavez Ravine, "the brown rolling hills of California are the nearest thing to desert I have seen!" :p

If I get a chance, The great places between San Antonio and California are places I'd love to visit.

As the Dodger faithful used to say in Brooklyn: "Wait 'til next year!" smile

John,

Do you know the Springfield Isotopes on the "Simpsons?" Homer was upset because his Isotopes were moved to Albuquerque.

Yep, that's where the name came from.
