According to a recent article in the Chicago Tribune, some fish being sold in the U.S. for food have dangerously high levels of mercury: orange roughy, swordfish, shark, walleye, and tuna. The tuna included both tuna steaks and canned tuna. However, salmon (both wild and farm-raised) had very low levels of mercury.

If one is worried about mercury in the fish one is eating, and still wants to get the EXTREMELY beneficial Omega 3 fatty acids that one needs for brain, nerve, skin, and anti-inflammatory functions. I suggest that he/she looks up Nordic Naturals their fish oils are 100% natural, have no lead or mercury in the capsules and have a patented fruit flavor so the person who takes the fish oil doesn't burp that nasty fishy flavor :p

Dr. Eric, who gets no endorsement money from Nordic Naturals and who also hates the taste of fish!!! :p
