The Ecumenical Patriarch has summoned a Pan-Orthodox Synod to deal with the crisis curently occuring in the Jerusalem Patriarchate.

From my reading, it appears that the Patriarchs and Archbishops will support the coup d'etat and call for the election of a new Patriarch.

If the Holy Synod of the Jerusalem Greek Orthodox Patriarchate did, indeed, undertake a coup d'etat in ousting Patriarch Ireneos, now, under the leadership of the EP, the Pan-Orthodox Synod of chief and lesser hierarchs will deliver a coup de grace!

It's getting messsier, if you ask me.
