Do the Byzantine rite churches have missions?

If yes, could you give me contact informaion or a link where I could get in touch with a mission co-ordinator?

Thank you for your time...

I asked this question several months ago. I think the answer today is the same I received then. To wit: "We don't have any missionary work. But we should."

I think the reason is that the metropolia still can't imagine that we ought to.

Seems different parts of the world have different views of what missions are. Here in Australia it is the small communities that were church run where Aboriginal people lived in remote areas. Then there were mission countries where white missionaries went out to bring the light to non European people. Now the concept of "mission" has been opened up to the laity who volunteer their time and skills in service to various churches all over the world for few years, or to the various projects at home. It is good to see how others interpret and see what is "mission" into days church.

Well I consider missionary work to mean going forth to bring the light of Christ to anywhere it is needed... whether that be half a world away... or just down the street...
