gtJC!

Hello all,

The Saturday after Thanksgiving, I start Level 1 (ages 3-6) catechist
training with Wendie Roberts and Susan Matthews. Marya (the DRE at my
church) is cool with this and about starting an Atrium Sept 2007. We are
going to complete this year as previous years using the 'God is with us'
publications.

I would sure like prayers for the benefit of our parish children. I've only
seen and heard great things regarding the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd
Montessori methods.

I've been told that we would probably be the first Catholic Atrium in Orange
County.... possibly southern calif. I just came back from visiting the
Atrium at St. Anne's in San Luis Obispo. WOWOWOWOWOWOWOW!!!!

We sooooo need to be able to offer this means of Catechesis to our parish
children.

Pretty please add this endeavor to your prayer list.

Have a happy Thanksgiving.

Susan,

Would you please elaborate on the method and training involved?

Bishop John Michael has blessed the use of the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (a montessori method of religious education) for the children in his eparchy. The wife of Father Emmanueal Samayoa helped to develop the program for Byzantines.

This might be something to consider for other EC and EO eparchies. I have heard wonderful things about the method.

Prayers for you, Susan, that the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is truly effective and works well for the children in your religious education program.

In Christ,

Porter...

St. Georges has a very successful ECCD program. One of the reasons, out side of parent and parish participation is our Catechesis Director, Mary Grace. She has stayed on top of things for years, so I have sent her the link.

Thanks!
