The rector continued. And something unconceived
happened. It was like flash blazed and alter-table stated to burn.
there is no information about the degree of how much was it burnt. The
church was urgently locked. Committee headed Metropolitan Filaret and
arch-bishop of Viciebsk Demetrious arrived. Committee's implications
are not announced, the church is locked, services denied, as one
priest witness - there is no alter-table in the altar.
Am I the only one who thinks this sounds a bit demonic? I know, none of us are there and it's impossible to know for sure. But just because an icon weeps, does it automatically mean it comes from God?

Knowing His Beatitude, Metropolitan Philaret of Minsk personally (as I do), I'm sure the VERY first thing that was done in this church was to read the prayers of exorcism. If it IS from the evil one, then indeed, it will cease.

But, yes, I did think of this also.

Your poor brother in the Lord,

Me too, I think that is why I was speechless.

But, Fr. Gregory is right on. God is in control.

I also thought of this, I believe in the Bible somewhere it states: "The devil can come disguised as an angel of light." But, I agree with Pani Rose, God is in control of this.
