I was injured on the job 13 1/2 years ago and have lived with constant pian in several areas of my back, neck, sacroiliac, sciatic nerves, and legs ever since. I have a Workers Comp settlement that covers medication and quarterly doctor's visits for the rest of my life, negotiated 10 years ago.
Recently I was called in for an IME (Independent Medical Exam) that the company may ask for every three years. Up until this one, every one of THEIR doctors has stated that my care was necessary and reasonable, even saying at times that the company should be doing more.
Well, this last doctor now says that my degenerative disease of the spine and discs is completely healed and I've been sent a notice of a hearing to terminate my medications permanently within the next three weeks. I should add that the doctors who originally set up my treatment and who followed me for a number of yers after the injury have written letters stating that degenerative disease does not heal; it is simply kept in check.
Please keep me in your prayers that they are not successful in this endeavor. I should add that the local hospital has destroyed all my reports and would have destroyed all my films EXCEPT that someone overlooked the films and I am now in possession of them. The corporate physician practice where my doctors worked--they're now retired--has also destroyed many parts of my records of that period, though I have copies at home of everything that has gone on.

oh dear  I remember only too well praying that the Medical folk I was sent to after I had got retirement on Medical grounds would agree with the opinions of my employer and my own Doctor , my pension relied on their opinion. Prayers that all goes well Bob ,and that they come to their senses

We are never free of the attacks of the evil one, yet as our good Lord would have it, he is never fully successful. He only manages to cause us great aggravation.
It is certainly providential that the only films not destroyed were the one's you now need, and that you have copies of the records. Thank the Lord!

Prayers, Bob, for your healing and the situation. It is this kind of behavior that gives corporations a bad name. Saint Joseph the Worker, pray for Robert!
And, in the event that you need a lawyer (hopefully it won't come to that), Saint Thomas More, pray for him!

Lord God do not allow these doctors to ruin a good Catholic christian man's health because of one doctor's views on the case . Lord enlighten all the minds of all involved and change their hearts to be in favor of BOB as he is a victim here of the enemy's attacks . lord let your love and wisdom bring out the truth and let BOB BE REINSTATED AND TO GAIN EVEN MORE THAN BEFORE FROM THE INSURANCE COMPANY . Through the intercession of Sts. Luke, Panteleimon, Cosmas, Damien, Cyrus, and John (all unmercenaries by the way) I pray that the management of your condition will be returned to what is medically necessary and that the insurance companies will pay for what they are supposed to pay for.
(By the way, get ready as they are coming for you all. Your deductibles will skyrocket, your co-pays will approach $100 per visit, and your coverage will shrink. I just finished a mini-audit from Blue Cross/Blue Shield.)
Also, providers are required by law (in Missouri anyway) to hold on to all records for 7 years after the case has been closed. I would check with an attorney to see what your state laws are.
