They are to this day and will continue to be the chief authorities for the doctrines and usages of the Greek and Roman Churches, and the sources for the knowledge of ancient Christianity down to the age of Charlemange."

heavens to Betsy, bro! what a library, would that I would win the lottery and place my bid. I was nigh unto salivating over the tomes. since I will not buy a lottery ticket on Good Friday (they cast lots for My garments), that will not happen. I do hope that you get a just bid, I only wish that I could do so.
Much Love,

Father Deacon,

Will be back to you after the weekend - right now I'm overwhelmed for obvious reasons. I certainly cannot match the price you paid, but I'll could my pennies and see if I can come up with something more respectable than $100.00.

Nikoali,
You have my sympathy. That is quite a substantial investment.
Unfortunately, most of the Church Fathers are available for free on the internet now. Studetns in particular like to use that venue because if you want to quote you can easily cut & paste without typing the quote out.
If Fr. Serge or someone else does not buy them try getting an estimate from an online bookstore.
I know from previous experience if you sell used scholarly books, the most you will get is 25% of the current selling price
if the books are in good shape without any writing. Then of course the book seller has a substanial markup, when he turns around and sells your books.
I wish you well.

Reverend Deacon Nikoali,Why eBay? Have you checked with Amazon.com, especially their market venue? If the book are in new condition like you say, you can probably get a good return. You might even contact a college or two that specializes in religious studies. Colleges have budgets, and if they can save money, they can purchase more books on their wish lists with the savings. One of my friends who graduated from the Moody Bible Institute used to work in religious booksales. You'd be surprised what a return you can get tahn going eBay. I've been to several Catholic colleges and none of them have the hard copy set you have. Mayabe a seminary would wish to have them?Eddie H.

There are 11 sellers on Amazon for the set. The price goes from 289.90 (new) to 1100. I hope you make out better on ebay but you will not know until the end of the auction.

Hope this helps,
fr. Jim

Christ is Risen!

Thank you Ed,

Indeed they are still new in the box, but since I need funds more immediately while Amazon cannot guarantee a sale in any amount of time, I have to use eBay. Perhaps if my reserve is not met I can try the venues you described. Thank you again!

In Christ,
Deacon Nikolai
