Hallelujah,Hallelujah, Hallelujah! Amen, Amen and Amen! Stephanos I Let the gates of hell fall before the onslaught of the Church. I would say it was a victory for basic morality not of one Church

Dear Brian, The Church cannot be divided there is only one Church. Stephanos I Guess we have to differ on our understanding of Ecclesiology.

Have you heard Rosie O'Donnell's take on this?
She wants the 5 Catholic Justices off of the SC.
Former Catholics sometimes make the worst enemies of the Church! Our friends here who have become Orthodox notwithstanding. I'm talking about those who become atheistic or antagonistic the Church like Hitler or Luther. The same principle applies to Orthodoxy as well. Stalin was a seminarian in Georgia. Gordo

Even more to the point, the Church is the cosmos redeemed by Christ. It is truly the Kingdom of God! So any victory for morailty (the law of love) is a victory for the Kingdom of God. Onward Christian soldiers! Gordo

I refuse to watch that show ever again, as long as she is on it! It was a fairly nice show for women when Meredith Vierra was on it--she was always diplomatic, charitable, and didn't get carried away with any of her own opinions...infact, she was a very good 'Moderator' for the other women's conversations. Rosie is disgusting. Every time she opens her mouth she spews some new vile and venomous garbage. She is a lunatic and I can't belive they let her on national TV.

I heard her bellow for "Separation of Church and State." I said, "How about separation of Rosie from the Buffet!" My wife thought it was funny in a "I can't believe you said that" kind of way. Then about 2 minutes later, the radio host said "How about the Separation of Rosie from the Fridge!" Dr. Eric... ahead of the curve.

Gordo I don't think we want to go back to that mentality, of the Crusades (look what they did in 1204!

Maybe I'm being oversensitive here (but I don't think so, because I'm not overweight)...but I don't think making fun of someone's weight should really be tolerated on here. Rosie has enough problems that we could rightfully point out rather than turning to mean-spirited comments about her body. If she is gluttonous she will have to render an account to God for that, amongst many other things, I would imagine...

Alexis Dear Alexis, You are right, and I would ask that we refrain from mocking anyone's physical appearance. I am fortunate to not be overweight, but someone I am close to does have a propensity towards it, and from knowing that person and seeing what they eat, I can avow that a good part of being overweight is genetic. Some people eat less than thin people do, and just breathing seems to put weight on their frames. Ofcourse, others do eat junk food, and others overeat...but then so do many thin people. Many people who are not overweight do, however, work very, very hard at being that way. Weight is never an easy thing to manage in a society that has turned our legs into wheels and where affordable yet unhealthy, fat and calorie laden food beckons at every corner, every chain restaurant, fast food restaurant, and mega supermarket. The daily family dinner table of my youth with meals cooked from scratch seems to have all but disappeared. Alice, Moderator

Isn't the real problem with Rosie, that she is a law unto herself. Doesn't she do as she pleases when she pleases? Does she recognize any authority outside herself?

"Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani (R), and current Republican front runner has not been shy about his support for abortion. Yet the Republican and social liberal announced on Wednesday that he agreed with the partial birth ban. The Supreme Court reached the correct conclusion in upholding the congressional ban on partial birth abortion, Giuliani said in a statement on the 54 decision. I agree with it."
Note, that he says that he agrees with the decision, not that he agrees with banning partial birth abortion. Rudi Giuliani has not indicated that he has changed his position at all. He simply thinks that the court made a judicially correct decision. The article is misleading when it says that he agrees with a partial birth abortion ban. I see no indication that if he were president, he would not veto a partial birth abortion ban bill or other restrictions. Yet, he is going to adjust his rhetoric and tactics in order to dupe pro-life people into voting for him. And apparently, he is significantly ahead in the polls among Republicans and there are indications that many evangelicals may vote for him in spite of his pro abortion views ("because he is a good leader,").
Joe Dear Joe,
Rudi Guiliani proved his leadership qualities when he was mayor of New York City. I believe before he was elected, there were about three murders each night. After he was elected, that changed. Hey! We need someone everyone's afraid of. I'd like to see Chavez and Azerbinijad, (or whatever his name is), as well as the Hollywood liberal big wigs, take on America with Guiliani at the helm.
The truth is though, that no matter what, Guiliani is still a conservative, and what ever judge he places on the bench, will be conservative. I still feel that even the abortion issue, is a social issue. Change the society, and the need for abortions will not be necessary. In time, everything will fall in line.
God Bless,
Zenovia

Uhhh! If I were you, I would reconsider that. Maybe we could use some good Christian soldiers. If we take into account world events, should the time come that we have sharia law, it is neither the practicing Jews nor the Christians that will suffer. But rather those with liberal ideas and practices.
God Bless,
Zenovia
