What did Our Lord say? "He who lives by the sword dies by the sword." What is more important? Protecting our contingent, earthly home or living according to the ideals of our eternal, heavenly home? Are you saying we are not to defend ourselves and our brothers and sisters from evil? What will you tell the Lord when He says to you. I was being killed and you did not help me. I was being tortured and you did not come to my aid. I needed you and you turned away from me? Do you think life eternal shall be given to those who choose to ignore evil? We should not LIVE by the sword, but we should be ready to stop the ones that do.

All the so called War On Terror has accomplished is the strengthening of Jihadists, loss of lives, money and constitutional liberties. Instead of pouring more soldiers and dollars into a hopeless war in Iraq, we should be stripping of citizenship and deporting radical Imams and their financhial supporters and permanently shutting down their institutions. During the War on Terror, once predominantly Catholic Hamtramck has become a majority Moslem town and a nearby Catholic church has been turned into a Mosque. Islamic immigration to once Christian countries is what caused 9-11, the London and Madrid train bombings, the 2005 riots throughout France, and the Moscow theatre tragedy. Few elected officials want to face reality and admit that the USA, along with just about every other nominally Christian country in the world, has already allowed a ticking time bomb inside there borders.

Dear Lawrence,
I have to admit that you are right on every single point you just made.
A very smart and well thought out argument.
Hats off to you sir.
I think that Democracy in Iraq is an impossibility because a true Democracy in an Islamic country is unrealistic.

I do think that non-violent resistance is still the best way and trust in God's providence. Joe

Joe,
I absolutely 100% agree. Non-violent resistance is our best weapon.
There is one thing more harmful to Islam than all the Nukes in the world.
IT IS THE TRUTH.
All people need do is open up the Quran, study it and teach others on the evils of this 'holy' book.
The Quran is the most HARMFUL thing to Islam that exists in the world. If only people would read it.....
Bush claims he has read the Quran....
I assure you He has not. Neither have any of our top Politicians. Some of them don't even know the difference between Shia and Suni.
The media spreading lies about Christianity while protecting Islam is another problem.
Disgusting Socialists like Rosy O'Donell who say that Radical Christianity is just as dangerous as Radical Islam and many of her compatriots are ENABLING Islam to hide its true colors. Ultimately they are enabling Islamists to carry out their acts unpunished.
So Yes, I must agree.
We must fight the ideological war at home if we are to defeat the Islamic threat.

Dr. Eric, There has been a very strong voice of Islamic Extremism in Turkey. Need I remind you that Pope John Paul was shot by an Islamist in Turkey? There isn't a day that goes by where I am not afraid for the safety of our Patriarch However you can make the argument that Turkey has been more or less democratic since WWI. They have relinquished the idea of a World Wide Caliphate and Sharia... At least for now.

I do believe though that their secular government is still somewhat hostile to religion, especially Christianity (they haven't given Hagia Sophia back to us), and Turkey is known for human rights abuses. Still, I'd rather live in Turkey than just about any middle eastern nation.

May 15, 2007Do we really want another ignoramus in the White House? [ blog.lewrockwell.com] Posted by James Ostrowski at May 15, 2007 11:26 PMGeorge Bush didn't know the President of Pakistan. Tonight, Rudy Giuliani, desperate to sound like a conservative in South Carolina after his liberal social views were highlighted, distorted Ron Paul's accurate remarks about the causes of 9/11, and noted that he had never heard those views expressed before. However, two well-known official reports support Ron Paul's statement that our intervention in the Middle East caused blowback on 9/11. Here [ gpoaccess.gov]'s the official (huge PDF file) US government report on 9/11: How did Bin Ladinwith his call for the indiscriminate killing of Americanswin thousands of followers and some degree of approval from millions more? . . . He also stresses grievances against the United States widely shared in the Muslim world. . . . He spoke of the suffering of the Iraqi people as a result of sanctions imposed after the Gulf War, and he protested U.S. support of Israel. *****Americas policy choices have consequences. Right or wrong, it is simply a fact that American policy regarding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and American actions in Iraq are dominant staples of popular commentary across the Arab and Muslim world. And here's an article [ mises.org] I wrote shortly after 9/11 which quotes from Tony Blair's White Paper [ ratical.org] on 9/11: Most libertarians argue that the attack was a murderously evil response to U.S. wars, trade sanctions, and troop presence in the Middle East and the Islamic worldpolicies the libertarians have consistently opposed. Ranged against them are neoconservatives who believe that it is inappropriate to discuss the terrorists true motives and who prefer instead to ascribe their actions to a generalized hatred of Western civilization and "our way of life." The libertarian analysis would imply a fast and radical pull-back of U.S. involvement in foreign affairs, starting with its trade sanctions and its troops scattered all over the Islamic world. This approach is not inconsistent with a determined, yet narrowly focused, hunt for the surviving co-conspirators. The neoconservative approach would lead not only to no reduction in foreign adventurism, but to a large and long war throughout the entire Middle East region. On Thursday before the bombing of Afghanistan, the libertarian analysis received strong support from a most unlikely source. Britains Tony Blair released a white paper, a bill of particulars against Mr. bin Laden. This 4,400-word document, released with the approval of the U.S. president, was designed to convince the world that bin Laden is responsible for the attacks on September 11. Those who proffer the report for this purpose cannot at the same time deny the facts alleged therein insofar as they bear on the issue of his motivation. The report quotes bin Laden himself, speaking on October 12, 1996: The people of Islam have suffered from aggression, iniquity and injustice imposed by the Zionist-Crusader alliance and their collaborators. . . . It is the duty now of every tribe in the Arabian Peninsula to fight jihad and cleanse the land from these Crusader occupiers. Their wealth is booty to those who kill them. My Muslim brothers: your brothers in Palestine and in the land of the two Holy Places [i.e., Saudi Arabia] are calling upon your help and asking you to take part in fighting against the enemythe Americans and the Israelis. They are asking you to do whatever you can to expel the enemies out of the sanctities of Islam. Later in the same year, bin Laden said that "terrorizing the American occupiers [of Islamic Holy Places] is a religious and logical obligation." These words barely need any elucidation. They squarely complain about U.S. support for Israel and about American troops in Saudi Arabia. There is nothing about forcing people in Peoria to abandon Western values and convert to Islam at gunpoint. The report quotes bin Laden again, in 1998, urging that . . . the killing of Americans and their civilian and military allies is a religious duty for each and every Muslim to be carried out in whichever country they are until Al Aksa mosque [in Jerusalem] has been liberated from their grasp and until their armies have left Muslim lands. We . . . call on every Muslim who believes in God and wishes to be rewarded to comply with God's order to kill Americans and plunder their money whenever and wherever they find it. We also call on Muslims . . . to launch the raid on Satan's U.S. troops and the devil's supporters allying with them, and to displace those who are behind them. (Emphasis added.) When asked, in 1998, about obtaining chemical or nuclear weapons, bin Laden said, "Acquiring such weapons for the defense of Muslims [is] a religious duty." (Emphasis added.) The white papers delineation of bin Ladens prior activities also demonstrates that his primary concern is with specific interventions by the United States into the Middle East and the Islamic world. Al Qaeda is implicated in the attack on U.S. military personnel in Islamic Somalia in 1993 and in two U.S. embassy bombings in East Africa in retaliation for U.S. intervention in Somalia. The report quotes bin Ladins interview with Time magazine on December 22, 1998, discussing the embassy bombings: The International Islamic Jihad Front for the jihad against the U.S. and Israel has, by the grace of God, issued a crystal clear fatwa calling on the Islamic nation to carry on Jihad aimed at liberating the holy sites. The nation of Mohammed has responded to this appeal. If instigation for jihad against the Jews and the Americans . . . is considered to be a crime, then let history be a witness that I am a criminal. Our job is to instigate and, by the grace of God, we did that, and certain people responded to this instigation. . . . Any thief or criminal who enters another country to steal should expect to be exposed to murder at any time. . . . The U.S. knows that I have attacked it, by the grace of God, for more than 10 years now. . . . God knows that we have been pleased by the killing of American soldiers [in Somalia in 1993]. This was achieved by the grace of God and the efforts of the mujahideen. . . . Hostility toward America is a religious duty, and we hope to be rewarded for it by God. I am confident that Muslims will be able to end the legend of the so-called superpower that is America. (Emphasis added.) As for the recent attacks, the white paper states: In the months before the September 11 attacks, propaganda videos were distributed throughout the Middle East and Muslim world by Al Qaeda in which Osama bin Laden and others were shown encouraging Muslims to attack American and Jewish targets. In the run-up to 11 September, bin Laden was mounting a concerted propaganda campaign amongst like-minded groups of peopleincluding videos and documentationjustifying attacks on Jewish and American targets; and claiming that those who died in the course of them were carrying out God's work. The British report on bin Laden is the most thorough and authoritative statement issued by Western political authorities about his motivations. The report thoroughly supports the libertarian analysis of the political cause of the attacks of September 11. The existential cause of the attacks was, of course, the free will of the perpetrators. Do we really want to elect a president who is ignorant of these important historical documents?

Do we really want to elect a president who will walk by a person being killed without turning his head?
Judging by over a thousand years of Islamic History it is painfully clear that ignoring them will lead to disaster.
Father Deacon, I urge you to read the Quran. If you don't have the time to do that, please read the quotes I provided.
The apology for terror is there for all to see.
I don't understand why Father Deacon you read the Islamic apologies for their atrocities.
I am sure that Hitler could have presented you with a long list of reasons why the Final solution was the only way to go.

Why has it taken the Muslims so long to get to America to further their Jihad? Dear Nathan, Thankfully, our government has kept them at bay. But it brings to mind something I heard 30 years ago. Some writer mentioned the patience of the Palestinians, and how they were sitting in refugee camps for 20 years, waiting to get Israel back. They are still waiting. Time seems to be immaterial to them. They have patience. How are they going to enslave our country with no navy, air force or army?
When they get here how are they going to enslave the most armed populace on the planet? They are going to enslave us in the same way they enslaved the Middle East and Balkans. For one, when the terrorists strike, people will start leaving. As soon as the Muslims become the majority, they will establish themselves as overlords. You know we are the most armed people in the world. But if we are not allowed to to anything to them, (and I could site the Serbs in trying to retain Kosovo as an example), and yet they can continue to do whatever they desire to us, then they will become overlords. They have patience. If the problem isn't our foreign policy, but the very heart of Islam, how do we protect ourselves? Do we eliminate every Muslim out there? Like I stated, none of them have a serious Navy or Air Force. Do you suggest we start genocide? Final Solution? No! But we should realize the threat, and not deny other nations the right to fight them as they see fit. We backed the Muslims in Kosovo, and repremanded the Russians for their hard handed methods in Chesnya in trying to curb the terrorists. As far as standing by and watching injustice happen, we're going to need a lot more soldiers if we're going to start going into every country were injustice is happening. Why aren't we in Darfur?
If you're right about the Muslims coming to try to conquer America, I'll be waiting, and armed to defend myself. Will you be? Especially when the liberals and the UN will support them in preference to you? See the problem is that many cannot understand that they have a different mind set. They are willing to allow their people to suffer. It doesn't faze them, for they consider it their fate in propagating Islam. We are the other hand, will not allow our family to suffer, and prefer to either allow them to become overlords, or move. As an example, we have only to look at the situation in the Near East in the past 100 years. Greece has taken in two million refugees from the land they lived on for 3,000 years in Asia Minor. Greece is not keeping those people in refugee camps, and insisting they remain there in order to reclaim their land. It has also taken in hundreds of thousands of Greeks from Alexandria Egypt. Alexandria was a Greek city from the time of Alexander the Great. It doesn't keep these people in refugee camps so that they may reclaim that city. The same could be said of those that lost their lands in Albania, Pontus, Alexandria, etc. and immigrated to Greece. And the same could be said of all the people in the Balkans and Eastern Europe. I believe one million Bulgarians had to immigrate to the land now called Bulgaria after WW I. When you take all these immigrations into account, and the desire of the Muslim world to retain land and reconquer land, then one has to realize that our problem is our own internal weakness' in recognizing the threat. We have to understand that others are not Christians, nor the product of Western enlightenment and therefore reason differently. Today in France and the Netherlands, there is territory where the Muslims live that follow sharia law. The police, nor any civil authority of the nations they live in, are not allowed to enter. This land has now become Muslim land. It will expand gradually, as their population grows. Even if the people there recognize the danger, they are allowing it...as we will. God Bless, Zenovia

Dear Nathan,
Thankfully, our government has kept them at bay. But it brings to mind something I heard 30 years ago. Some writer mentioned the patience of the Palestinians, and how they were sitting in refugee camps for 20 years, waiting to get Israel back. They are still waiting. Time seems to be immaterial to them. They have patience. I do not believe we had any Muslim attacks prior to our meddling in Middle Eastern Politics after WWII. Is there any history of our government keeping the Muslims at bay before then? They are going to enslave us in the same way they enslaved the Middle East and Balkans. For one, when the terrorists strike, people will start leaving. As soon as the Muslims become the majority, they will establish themselves as overlords. You know we are the most armed people in the world. But if we are not allowed to to anything to them, (and I could site the Serbs in trying to retain Kosovo as an example), and yet they can continue to do whatever they desire to us, then they will become overlords. They have patience. I have more faith in the strength of Americans to defend against a Muslim invasion on US soil. What would make it tougher if another country did to us what our interventionist foreign policy did to the Serbs. I agree with you, we should be allowed to keep and bear arms. If a Muslim invasion occurs, I feel we have the strength and courage to defend ourselves. No! But we should realize the threat, and not deny other nations the right to fight them as they see fit. We backed the Muslims in Kosovo, and repremanded the Russians for their hard handed methods in Chesnya in trying to curb the terrorists. I agree with you 100%. We should stay out of meddling in other countries affairs.

This land has now become Muslim land. It will expand gradually, as their population grows. Even if the people there recognize the danger, they are allowing it...as we will. I also agree with much you have to say here. We should not allow the UN to dictate to us what is right. We personally should support our Christian brother's and sisters who are attacked with donations, and whatever else we see fit. I do not think that it is the roll of the government however to fight other peoples battles but our own. It was Osama's fault that 9/11. Yes, I believe the reason as Osama himself stated was due to our foreign policy. Osama did it, we did not, he is to blame for 9/11. That being said, the 9/11 Commision report and the CIA agree that our foreign policy is the reason Muslims hate us. I agreed with us hunting down Osama, but what happened? We no longer care about Osama, but now we are in Iraq?? America is NOT the world police. Ron Paul is NOT standing by seeing a man get murdered. He just doesn't believe in sending our son's and daughters to die invading other countries in order to prevent injustice. If someone personally wants to go to another country and risk their lives to help, that's honorable. To force other people to do that I believe is wrong. Sincerely, Nathan

On the side tangent of "supporting 'Israel" let me quote Matthew Tsipras and Abraham Ata: "Christian Zionism" is a Contradiction of Terms Palestinian Christians face ethnic cleansing
The Palestinian Christian is an endangered species. When the modern state of Israel was established there were about 400,000 of us. Two years ago the number was down to 80,000. Now its down to 60,000. At that rate, in a few years there will be none of us left. Palestinian Christians within Israel fare little better. On the face of it, their number has grown by 20,000 since 1991. But this is misleading, for the census classification Christian includes some 20,000 recent non-Arab migrants from the former Soviet Union. So why are Palestinian Christians abandoning their homeland? We have lost hope, thats why. We are treated as non-people. Few outside the Middle East even know we exist, and those who do, conveniently forget.
I refer, of course, to the American religious right. They see the modern Israel as a harbinger of the Second Coming, at which time Christians will go to paradise, and all others (presumably including Jews) to hell. To this end they lend military and moral support to Israel. Even by the double-dealing standards of international diplomacy, this is a breathtakingly cynical bargain. It is hard to know who is using whom more: the Christian right for offering secular power in the expectation that the Jewish state will be destroyed by a greater spiritual one, or the Israeli right for accepting their offer. What we do know is that both sides are abusing the Palestinians. Apparently we dont enter into anyones calculations.
The views of the Israeli right are well known: They want us gone. Less well known are the views of the American religious right. Senator James Inhofe, R-Okla., said: God appeared to Abraham and said: I am giving you this land, the West Bank. This is not a political battle at all. It is a contest over whether or not the word of God is true. House Majority Leader Dick Armey, R-Texas, was even more forthright: Im content to have Israel grab the entire West Bank. I happen to believe that the Palestinians should leave.
There is a phrase for this: ethnic cleansing. Why do American Christians stand by while their leaders advocate the expulsion of fellow Christians? Could it be that they do not know that the Holy Land has been a home to Christians since, well since Christ? Do not think I am asking for special treatment for Christians. Ethnic cleansing is evil whoever does it and to whomever it is done. Palestinian Christians -- Maronite Catholics, Orthodox, Lutherans, Armenians, Baptists, Copts and Assyrians -- have been rubbing shoulders with each other and with other religions -- Muslims, Jews, Druze and most recently Bahais -- for centuries. We want to do so for centuries more. But we cant if we are driven out by despair.
What we seek is support: material, moral, political and spiritual. As Palestinians, we grieve for what we have lost, and few people (the Ashkenazi Jews are one) have lost more than us. But grief can be assuaged by the fellowship of friends. Abe Ata is a ninth-generation Christian Palestinian born in Bethlehem. He is a visiting Senior Fellow at the University of Melbourne in Australia and author of 11 books, including Intermarriage between Christians and Muslims.
To support Israeli policy is to perpetuate the systematic persecution of Palestinian Christians.
