Dear Friends,

Just one question - will there be a name change to ROCOR in any way?

My understanding is that they will keep the name, and will function autonomously outside of Russia. I had heard some rumblings about incorporating Patriarchal parishes in North America into ROCOR.

Glory to God!

I seriously hope that a DVD will become available - and perhaps even that VESTI will re-broadcast at some more accessible time for Western Europe, for North America, and for Australia.

Meanwhile, let us rejoice!

Yes it is a wonderful thing that has happened, dispite what feelings may have about the Patriarch of Russia.

Two additional snippets:

1) fittingly, the Patriarch of Serbia sent congratulations. Since Serbia managed to stay in communion with both sides all these years, that seems appropriate.

2) among those present was Grand Duchess Marie, the presumed head of the Imperial House (she's the daughter of Grand Duke Vladimir Kirillovich, the late Claimant to the Imperial Throne. The catch is that under the succession laws of Imperial Russia, a woman cannot inherit the throne, nor can the claim pass through a woman - please don't blame me; that law was made by Emperor Paul I, long before I was born).

So, I take it then that since ROCOR and Moscow are now in full communion, that ROCOR is now in full communion with all of the other Orthodox jurisdictions? Greek, Antiochian, etc. Does this mean that I can now commune in a ROCOR parish?

Dear Friends,

It is providential that ROCOR is in full communion with the MP. There is much genuine spirituality that we can ALL learn from ROCOR as can the MP.

ROCOR has taught so many of us so much, its publications have nurtured the Eastern Christian spirit in us for so long, and its glorifications of Saints have awed us - may it continue with its mission and work to God's glory!
