Thanks for the info on the ex-Assyrians in the Russian Church.

Here [wavelinks.net] is that old page on Brothers I saw. I see from Google he died in 1979. The Church of the Holy Transfiguration of Christ on the Mount looks very Pugin Gothic/Anglican. He seemed a charming fellow, both traditional and open-minded at the same time. Sorry he ended up vagante but like Fr Serge said we can commend him to the mercy of God.

I have spoken briefly to the priest at the Greek church and will probably attend a liturgy in the near future.

I was just curious as to whether the main difference is in language or are there other things that would be noticeably different to someone who is ignorant of the Orthodox faith.

Thanks for your help,
Tom

Only deal with the Serbian and Greek parishes that you mentioned , that other one is probably what we call "10 guys in a garage playing church (they syro russian one).
The Serbs and the Greek use the same liturgy. There will be small traditions that are different (the serbs will have three litanies after the Gospel, while the Greeks will go straight into the Cherubic Hymn for an example). The chant will be different between the two. All I can say is visit both of them and just pray for those involved with that so called syro russian "church."
