Seems like this scientist has taken a pretty serious approach to the subject. I know we have talked about it before on here, but anyway, it seems to be an interesting read...

My mentor was a hard core atheist until he was mashed in a car wreck about 35 years ago. He died 4 times and had confirmation that there is life after death.

He is now in a gnostic church (can't win 'em all) and frequently talks about his faith. Please pray for him and his wife that they come to the fullness of the Truth.

I've read some accounts of people who died, experienced the afterlife, and came back. The ones which impress me the most are those which motivate people to change their lives markedly for the better. I have no dount that some of those experiences were real.

Dear Harmon,

I agree! We are to judge the tree by the fruit it bears. If someone comes back a more loving and compassionate person, then something good must have happened to change their life. As for the reincarnation bit at the bottom, I have to assume the previous personalities are demons.

I have read Orthodox books on the afterlife, and they do not believe the experiences were real, but rather that the light they see, is the light of their own body...and then again, we do know that the body does not really enter a heavenly realm until after the fortieth day. We also know that as a person is dying, they are in the presence of their dead relatives and friends...yet, what realm are they in? confused

Still in all, I think the disbelieving theologians, by discarding the near death experiences, are merely configuring them into their own concepts and knowledge of the afterlife. It seems they're doing a poor job of it. wink

I guess like me! frown

God Bless,

Zenovia
