Dear Borislave,
Are you anti-Russian too? You and Kobzar can shake hands together! \:\) AHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAH....cough.....HAHHAHAHAHA....cough.... You must have me mixed up with a different Borislav. IMHO, Russia fell Theologically during the Revolution. Not only militarily. Also, not all Ukrainians were a part of the UNIA my friend. In fact most of us remained Orthodox even till now. Funny how this fact seems lost on this forum. Ukraine is an predominatley an ORTHODOX country. Not Greek Catholic, Not Roman Catholic. O R T H O D O X

Dr. Eric, I guess you missed the note, but the new Ecumenical Patriarch would not be Cardinal McCarrick, but his successor, Archbishop Donald Wuerl... anyone find a bishop for Pittsburgh yet?

Alex, As Emperor, I would be glad to bestow the Patriarchate on him, except, since Fr. Serge called for my election, I kinda promised it to him first!

Dear Borislave,
I agree that Ukraine is not a predominantly Greek or Roman Catholic country.
But it is NOT an Orthodox country.
It is a UKRAINIAN ORTHODOX country.
As my sainted grandmother would have said . . .
If anyone wants to connect that to Russia, they are "Orthodox Uniates." And Uniates are Uniates everywhere.
Slava!
Alex

Begin your pardon sir, but by being Ukrainian Orthodox we are connected to our Russian Orthodox Brothers and Sisters through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, not to mention very close ethnicity.
Russia is not the enemy, Russian people aren't the enemy.
Grouping people by their ethnicity, segregating from our Orthodox brothers and sisters is exactly what the prince of THIS world wants. (as Father Aledxander Schmemann would say)

If we "blow this statement into the wind" the Orthodox in Ukraine and the diaspora will always remain divided. We need to realize that we are all one in Lord Jesus. We are His Body. Russians, Ukrainians, Americans. All Orthodox Christians are the Body of Christ, and by these large and small schisms we are wounding His Body. As far as I am concerned Ukraine should be under Constantinople, which is exactly where our Church is. Yes, Moscow isn't helping in all this right now, but neither is the uncanonical KP which is led by Filaret who before He became a supporter of Ukrainian Autocephaly was its worst enemy. He did everything He could to harm Vladyka Mstislav, because He always hoped to be the Patriarch of all Russia.

It is a UKRAINIAN ORTHODOX country. That is a trap we desperately need to avoid.

Along with the idea that the church is somehow centered on a single leader or a single geographic location. It is not.

It is interesting how the EP characterizes Moscow for using the "Rome" idea even though, in the same breath, he affirms his Church as "New Rome." Dear Alex, Heh, heh, heh! The Greeks love to talk out of both sides of their mouths. Beware of their gifts too! God Bless, Zenovia
