Again, seems to me to be a "Craddle vs. Convert" issue.
Craddle Ruthenian Byzantine Catholics have a big problem with the new music. Converts don't have a problem with the new music probably because they never experienced the Church Slavonic Prostopinije liturgies.

"Craddle vs. Convert"

Cradle

Not all who don't have a problem with the "new" music are cradle Byzantine Catholics. Some converts have heard Slavonic Prostopinije liturgies but might still have difficulty with the "English translation" music.

I myself am a cradle Byzantine Catholic, who has had little difficulty with the so called "new" music, in part because I HAVE experienced Slavonic prostopinije!

There are translation issues which I still have questions about. But as far as the MUSIC goes, it is quite faithful to the Slavonic prostopinije I grew up with!

Steve,

I have pointed this fact out to those who have asked. Yes, you are an exception to the trend.
