My personal opinion is there would be little or no negative fallout in the Latin Church if it were to adopt the Orthodox calculation for dating the Paschal season. The Gregorian calendar would still be followed for the remainder of the year.

Isn't this the formula now in place in many Orthodox jurisdictions which led to new and old calendar usage?

It would be a most positive move for all of Christianity to celebrate Easter/Pascha on the same date.

Dear Bill,

I agree with you strongly, sir!

And what would even make my year that much MORE exciting is if the West, both Rome and the Protestants, returned to the original Creed without the Filioque!

That sounds a bit optimistic, but who wouldn't be on such a sunny St Patrick's Day? smile

Churches on the new calendar calculate the movable feasts off the traditional Paschalion, but fixed feasts go according to the Revised Julian (i.e. Gregorian).
