There they go again....
NJ Supreme Court Reverses Abortion Ruling [ap.google.com]

Where was this kind of "common good" logic in Roe vs. Wade?

Quote
"On the profound issue of when life begins, this court cannot drive public policy in one particular direction by the engine of the common law when the opposing sides, which represent so many of our citizens, are arrayed along a deep societal and philosophical divide," New Jersey Justice Barry T. Albin wrote for the court.
The "opposing sides" represent more than "so many of our citizens"; they represent ALL the citizens. Do they mean "unless they disagree with the Court's decision?"

Is this Court asserting the right of a medical doctor to be incompetent? to deceive? and get paid for it?

Quote
"According to Acuna, (Dr.) Turkish told her that she 'needed an abortion because (y)our kidneys are messing you up,'" court papers said. "Acuna asked (Dr.) Turkish whether 'the baby was already there.' According to Acuna, (Dr.) Turkish replied, 'Don't be stupid, it's only blood.'"
Would Dr. Turkish have failed my daughter's freshman biology course at the local public high school?

Some degree of incompetence, I suppose, is inherent in the fallen human condition and therefore inevitable - which is why in making major medical decisions, for example, we do well to solicit more than one opinion.

Deceit, and taking money under false pretences, are immoral and criminal.
